Bone burying speed, or PC for pray (see post6)

Hello,

I'm planning to train my prayer to 95.. And I got to make the money for that first.. However to determine the best method I also need to know how fast I can bury bones:

-how many bones an hour with normal burrying(standing in bank, withdraw, bury)

-How many an hour with (your own) altar?

-how many an hour with ecto (taking into account you also need to make slime)?

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Dragon bone burying used to be 180k prayer xp an hour last time i did that, and i assume it's the same now.

Altaring should be around 1100-1300 bones an hour with yak.

Ectoing dragon bones used to be 30k xp an hour last time i tried that.

First to 3766 Port Score on 20. March, 2014.

First to 4664 Port Score on 2. March, 2015.

That's Grimy's prayer spreadsheet. There is a column for bones/hour there. Note, those seem to be high-end numbers for people who concentrate all the time, but thats a good estimate. And as others have said, NEVER use anything other then gilded altar if you are P2P. Just use the house party world in Yannil

Well I would like to train in a more involved way.. Using altars only is so boring..

Hmm kk. Well this made me wondering, PC has gotten a complete overhaul hasn't it?

Now with bone prices, wouldn't that be a faster method to earn prayer levels?

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Until you reach level 92 prayer, PC points will give you less prayer xp than a single dragon bone on the guilded altar.

Even once you're level 92, assuming you can do 25 games an hour (2 mins per game + wait time) on the the veteran boat, you'll be getting like 25k pray xp per hour.

Even at 25,000 prayer xp per hour, with prayer being worth less than 24gp/xp currently, you'd only be saving 600k per hour. If you make under 600k/hr then it would be worthy at that level point, provided you did get as many games/hr as described, and all wins. However, it should be no trouble making well over 600k/hr, so this method would be more time spent than if you made the cash, bought the bones, and sacrificed the bones.

If I were you, I would either do dragon bones on a gilded altar, or do Soul Wars and put your points towards prayer. Based on a calculation I did, Soul Wars is more efficient if you make about 350k an hour or less. If you want to get prayer exp while doing it an 'involved' way, SW is your best bet. I suggest joining a CC (ie: megazeals, 3zealftw, etc.) in W44.

Well I did calculations with my sheet (which automatically updates the prices each day) and I noticed this: atm for me (guess of 900k gp/hour as rcing is my only source of income) baby dragon bones are best, closely followed by big bones.. Dragon bones are a far third.. (they became best when earning more than 1.2M an hour)

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

That's fairly accurate. For me, it comes to the point where I might overpay to save myself the time spent offering bones. Not fun. Check out this spreadsheet: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0AhdHFDsdlxujdHJrd3JGanczM3pGRjMxamsxMmVkMUE&gid=2
