Retech
Frankly, I don't think Dungeoneering and Hegemony are compatible. It would lead to twice as many conflicts. Might as well just play both on separate threads. Master of your domain? I am Lord of the manor, Queen of the castle, King of the county! Nexaduro
Yeah, separate threads but they both apply to the same world. You play apart from the Hegemony players, but the world still shifts based on player's actions in Hegemony. And players in D'neering can, with significant difficulty, start rebellions in colonies and other such things. Maybe even kill generals and leaders of a nation. 10:53 PM - retech9691: I feel the need10:53 PM - retech9691: To include many chasms in my story arc10:53 PM - Resistance: You mean plotholes? Retech
Agree with the first thing. Disagree with the importance of Dungeoneering player. Hegemony should be able to move Dungeoneering around, but it should basically be impossible to do the opposite. Master of your domain? I am Lord of the manor, Queen of the castle, King of the county! Seraphi
Doesn't work, Nex. You end up with the same "I AM THE PROTAGONIST, THEREFORE I AM IMMUNE TO BULLETS" syndrome, with people expecting their individual characters to be able to sway entire empires, as well as being able to tear apart large armies armed with only a machete and a handgun. Retech
as in, the d'neering players can be hired by the hegenomy players.. Instead of spending time hiring that one person, you could hire a group of one thousand mercenaries to do everything the one person could do, and better. Master of your domain? Earth
ah, but you could do both. with a smart, human player under your orders, instead of a mods ideas and whims, will make you have a much better chance of succeeding with your thousand mercenry invasion.. Retech
There lays the problem. The human player is supposed to be equal to any other human with the same training, equipment, experiences, etc. There are plenty of times when the average person should've died in Dungeoneering, but instead the moderator gave you a second chance. If we do that in Hegemony, it just wouldn't work. Master of your domain? I am Lord of the manor, Queen of the castle, King of the county! Earth
thats not the point. if we do it with two seperate threads, then the players in hegenomy can send a discreeet PM to the player they want to hir in the D'neering area. they chose the player based on skill and weaponry (ergo, you dont want a demolition specialist on a stealth mission) the player can agree or not. you provide him with a team, or hire other players to be in the team. the pay the D'neering people get is the exp from the mission, the good graces of the hegenomy player, and cash to buy thigns with.see my point? Seraphi
It just doesn't work, Earth. They're normal people, and must be treated as normal people. Nobody would want to play if there was a 50% chance that they'd die while infiltrating a base.

archimage_a
Playing Dungeoneering and Hegemony at the same time is kind of impossible.... Dungeoneering takes place over days and weeks, Hegemony takes place over months and years. Unless Hegemony was put on hold every time anyone wanted to go on a little mission, or Dungeoneering was played at an ultra accelerated rate....I can't see it theoretically working, let alone practically working. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. The_Mather1
Ouyso will not scrip, however after multiple errors of failing to use .bats, [Caution: Executable File]s and .luas I have decided to download a full PHP manual and will attempt to make the script myself. There's no guarantee that I will succeed but seeing how I'm stuck at my cabin I have nothing better to do than devote my time and attention to making this script. The_Mather1
Edit: It was filled with flaws, I've fixed it to the degree I can but line 8 will not be accepted by the tester no matter what I do with it.<?php echo "Hello Archi, you are now using a script by Mather! *insert wink here* PS: Semi-colon ends prints."; $PG = 1.02; $Dev = 1; $X = 10000; if (isset($pOp)) {$Pop = $pOp $pop = gmp_mul("$Pop", "$PG"); if $cmp = gmp_cmp("gmp_mul("$Dev", "$X")", "$pop") = 1{ $pOp = gmp_mul("$Dev", "$X");} echo "Done!"; print_r($pOp);} else {$pOp = $pop} echo "Done!"; print_r($pOp);} else {$Pop = 1000 $pop = gmp_mul("$Pop", "$PG"); if $cmp = gmp_cmp("gmp_mul("$Dev", "$X")", "$pop") = 1{ $pOp = gmp_mul("$Dev", "$X");} echo "Done!"; print_r($pOp);} else {$pOp = $pop} echo "Done!"; print_r($pOp);} ?> Twitter: @TheMather1
archimage_a
[hide][/hide] Anyway, I am 100% through the preparation and 10% through the map. I am guessing it will take between 3 and 18 days to complete the map, depending on how actively I do it. After that I will need to check the mechanics I am working on and write the random events script...Which means that it should be ready in the next 5 to 20 days.Depending on the situation then(I am concerned about some Real Life stuff) I will give people a few days to search the map for a good homeworld and create their races. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. The_Mather1
After finding out that I over-complicated the multiplication in a way that couldn't handle variables I manage to fix both it and the remaining errors:<?php echo "Hello Archi, you are now using a script by Mather! *insert wink here* PS: Semi-colon ends echos."; $PG = 1.02; $Dev = 1; $X = 10000; if (isset($pOp)) {$Pop = $pOp;} else {$Pop = 1000;} $pop = $Pop * $PG; $Max = $Dev * $X; $Min = min($Max, $pop); if ($Min == $Max) {$pOp = $Max;} else {$pOp = $pop;} echo "Calculation done! Population-"; print_r($pOp); ?>I have yet to make it auto-run and keep/post variables though. Twitter: @TheMather1
