Napoleonic Hegemony

Well...Ico thinks it is game breaking to attack another player when they are weak...You, I and Retech are caught up in Revolutions, Dusty is the Mod, Dungeonal has been quiet so far...might be a threat....Edel might attack, though seems unlikely. Rocco might attack for the luls, as might Paul or Sere...But if they are attacking for the luls then trol should be able to defeat them.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Rocco I would advise against invading austria hungary. This is because it would drag the entirety of the Holy Roman Empire into the fight (well hopefully not...) So in short I would hope that you and edel can resolve things (possibly make a treaty where edel cedes the rights to 1 province overseas [or some [cabbage] like that] to you). In any rate it's time to calculate some new budget figures (I've been putting it off for various reasons [which shall not be named])

Due to budget constraints, the two cannons planned for the Army of Mexico have been canceled. Instead, 5 cannons from the Army of Madrid have been transferred.

Also, trol, I think you should ask Dusty for approval on that ship. I'm not sure about the size you made it, I doubt he'd be okay with that, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind spending extra to make a 3 decker or something.

Already been done. Size may have been overstated, but the number of guns (112-116) is the same as the historical Spanish Flagship from the era.

Hey Retech, how about those 5% interest rate loans you were offering?

Momentarily stuck in a revolution. Once I crush it, I might consider offering it again. Why don't you ask the merchants and bankers?

Well I'm not scared of Rocco, but I am currently fighting Indians and probably soon the Americans, well that is if Dungeonal will attack.

So I would of colonised Australia if it wasn't for the Indian random event.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Any update on my revolution?

If you missed the map I posted of my plans, it's a few pages back probably.

Saw them, I'll write something up today. But such a rapid spread is starting to spur the royalist government into action.

And yes, Netherlands has colonized 4 additional provinces. And after tommorow budget resets will be once every 4 days (irl)

I do not mind people taking parts of America, as long as it isn't too much. After it is done I'll probably go for a few chunks of Africa, and if any is left Australia as it would be a bit silly of me to let someone get control of an entire continent, it might cause problems later.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Uhhh, perhaps, though fighting over there would be hard for a Brit, so I might train up an army that is good at fighting over there.

Well either india or southeast asia (I may have to order some spy work to be done). What I was thinking of (note that all of this post is not said in the game world) would be playing off the various states against eachother with promises of aid (at which point our forces unite after being conveniently late and crush the survivors)

EDIT: Erm rocco it is kinda pointless to try to claim an entire continent for yourself. It would be much more reasonable to simply strive to control part of it (and not to put all of your eggs in one possibly rebellious basket) Also the next time someone fights you may be dealing with an actual general with a couple of cannons (and maybe even a larger force). So in short; don't be an ass and make reasonable claims (like not an entire [bleep]ing continent)

The Battle of Moscow, November 27th, 1781

The Russian Imperial Government responded to the nobility’s rebellion by sending a force number well over 40,000 soldiers to relieve the siege on Moscow. Informed of this monstrous army coming at them, all of the rebel nobility’s mercenary forces quickly deserted, causing morale to drop significantly. However, Count Tamás quickly rallied his troops and prepared to meet the Russian forces.

The Russian army that arrived was in good order, but the Polish regiments who had been brought into Russia to help had taken severe casualties due to harsh winter conditions that they were unprepared for (3,000 Polish lancers dead). Nonetheless, the Imperial Army greatly outnumbered their foes, and both armies deployed in the open steppe surrounding Moscow.

The Imperial army surged forward led by General Generic (lol), advancing in column so as to overawe the opposing army’s troops, coming forward like giant fists to smash into the nobility’s thin line. Over 10,000 Russian and Polish cavalry flanked the advancing column, as roundshot from the artillery behind soared over their head and smashed into the nobility’s line, dwindling their numbers even further. Unfortunately, even this display of might was unable to force the rebel army to retreat without a fight, and so the regimental flags went forward.

The 20,000 Russian line infantry finally came within range of the rebel nobility’s line, and the musket duel began. It was an even fight, as though the Russian army outnumbered the nobility’s, the decision to deploy into column meant that their numerical advantage could not be pushed. The columns halted in the face of such opposition, and deployed into a thick line while under fire. It looked as if the rebels would be able to drive the infantry off, but Colonel Nowak, a Polish cavalry colonel convinced General Generic to commit his cavalry force to the battle. The Russian and Polish cavalry stormed towards the rebel’s thin line, and were met by the rebel nobility’s lancers and hussars that had been held in reserve. It was a bloody battle as both cavalry forces slammed into one another, but after heavy fighting the Russian and Polish cavalry managed to fight the rebels off, and the rebel infantry was forced to wheel into square, giving the Russian infantry a chance to advance again. Their order was lost in the heavy musket duel, but they charged forward with a cheer, bayonets fixed. In square, the rebel army found it completely impossible to hold off the infantry, and they soon broke against the pressure and fled, pursued by the Russian and Polish cavalry.

Count Tamás himself was captured, and was brought before the Czaress for punishment.

Result:

Tactical Victory – Russia/Poland

Strategic Victory - ?

Casualties:

Russia:

4,000 Line infantry

2,000 Lancers

1,000 Hussars

500 Cuirassiers

Poland:

5,000 Lancers (3,000 lost to attrition)

1,000 Line infantry

Rebel nobility:

Entire army (obviously will not be replenished)

The Netherlands welcomes up to 100 of the russian nobles into their country. It is however warned that dutch is mandatory for citizenship. On a completely un related note what would be the pros and cons of having latin become the official language of the netherlands and it's colonies (to essentially have a common language with others being secondary)

What is production efficiency?

You get 1% production efficeincy for a land province. So, essentially you just lost 10,000,000 of your budget for the next 10 years. But on the plus side most of your nobles have taken off, so you don't really have to deal with them anymore.

You do have vast swaths of land that will descend into lawlessness pretty quickly though, since there are no longer people to keep order within it (was part of the nobles' duties).

100 Russian nobles move to the Netherlands, bringing along their armsmen, who are given to serve in the Dutch army.

Netherlands + 2000 lancers

Err latin. Well, um. Nobody really speaks Latin anymore except for priests.
