InfamousDuck
I remember a while ago a Tip.it admin/staff said they would decide closer to time whether or not to have a mechscape fansite, although they thought that it may be pointless because if was almost guaranteed that the game would have its own knowledge base. Now it is stellardawn, so perhaps now is better than ever to make a fansite. The point you made back then still stands although I feel there are many other reasons beyond that to still make a faniste. I made this thread to hear users opinions on a fansite and maybe have reply from admins over this issue and whether they feel there is incentive. ~Duck Runescape - Currently In-active and a cancelled membership due to a broken computer and a cabbage laptop!2xBarrowsReward1600SkillTotalReached|08/05/2010(Previously 'Darkknightider', wow that was a bad name :p)
The Observer
Tip.it is a RuneScape fansite, not a Jagex fansite. But, you never know... maybe if there's enough people interested them they might add something to the website.

tripsis
If we were to expand our site to include Stellar Dawn, we would have to do some MAJOR recruitment. Our current Tip.it Crew team needs to continue focusing on RuneScape, as we cannot simply abandon it and stretching the same Crew team across two fan sites is far too stressful and time-consuming. So that is honestly probably the greatest issue - finding out how we can balance our time between RuneScape and Stellar Dawn without letting Rune Tips suffer and without halfassing "Stellar Tips." - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
obfuscator
Stellar Tips - where we reach for the stars ;) I personally would like to think tip.it will become involved as a SD helpsite in some way - although I do agree if it is to be done it should be done properly. Bear in mind, however, that SD is supposed to appeal to a different audience - so there may be many people looking for a fansite (who would make good SD crew) who have little or no interest in Runescape. There are also people who have retired from RS who would be looking into playing SD, and while not being suitable crew for the RS site due to being retired, might be good SD crew candidates. Oh yeah I completely forgot about this problem, do you ever feel a fansite could slowly be built up by recruiting new staff, i.e. if you created more boards for sd, such as a sd archive of wisdom you could highlight strong community and devoted members and a fansite perhaps would slowly be built up? ~Duck Runescape - Currently In-active and a cancelled membership due to a broken computer and a cabbage laptop!2xBarrowsReward1600SkillTotalReached|08/05/2010(Previously 'Darkknightider', wow that was a bad name :p)
GottaGetDownOnfriday
Tip.it is a Runescape help site. There are already several SD/MS tip sites already out there. Like tripsis said, a lot of people would need to be recruited IF we did started catering to SD players as well as RS players. The only thing I see in the future is a few more SD boards then if those get popular, I bet we will get a SD section on tip.it. 65,280 to 99 fletching on 3-14-0940,405 to 99 woodcutting on 10-17-2009
MPM
Misplaceditems.com will be a stellar dawn fan site ran by me. The way it will be ran will be heavily based on how tipit is managed and will open the day that the stellar dawn beta begins. ~M

InfamousDuck
Another thought, have you (admins) ever considered attempting to make a partnership with an already existing fansite like you have with runescript. This would boost traffic to both sites and you might be able to collaborate on stuff. If you did, without hinting at any particular site, wouldn't it be good the two original fansites together :P ~Duck Runescape - Currently In-active and a cancelled membership due to a broken computer and a cabbage laptop!2xBarrowsReward1600SkillTotalReached|08/05/2010(Previously 'Darkknightider', wow that was a bad name :p)
Cowman_133
We really have not come to a decision about where we would like to go with this, so at this time a partnership isn't really on the table until we decide if we're even going to operate a SD fansite. Danqazmlp
I wouldn't expect much to happen decision wise until SD comes out and the admins could see the interest levels in the game. D. V. Devnull
I will state the following in advance of whatever happens: Should Tip.It decide to build a Stellar Dawn guide set and pull together a crew for maintaining it, then I will most gladly welcome it. I find it far more easy reading a lot of Tip.It's guides than I do reading ones on the RS Official Knowledge Base. :shades: ~D. V. "Tip.It building their own guides would be a plus."
