Yea, like everyone else on the forum, I'm having a lot of trouble with jad. Though it's not getting to him thats hard, its the fact that I can't get the sounds right. It's like there's a delay or something. As soon as I hear the mage sound I put on the prayer, but then it's too late, and I'm hit. Last time i got to jad with 4 brews, 10 rests, and a full cbow left. I handled the first few switches perfectly. But then he did a range attack, and I could have sworn I heard a sound (before I was hit) so then I switched magic, hit for a 45. The next hit I didn't hear a sound *at all* and then I see a meteor flying towards me. Hit for like a 600.

 

Meh. Any tips? I've read and practiced Sirhemen's guide, but besides that I honestly don't know what else to do. And I want to get good at the same time, because I'm going for 5 fire capes. (I want to have a pro slayer outfit tbh)

*side note* what is the BEST range weapon to use? Everyone said to use Muggi's guide, so I brought cbows, and they aren't that good tbh. I think I did fight caves faster when I had 80 ranged.

Try playing on a server that has the least latency to you. Trust me, that's gonna determine your success more than anything else.

Rune crossbows are the best now

I did ;) I got a world with 80 ping as my lowest.

 

@ nmanitstinks: broad bolts? and what bolts for jad? d stone?

Dstone would be a waste, I'd go with Diamond (e)

Broad for whole caves then diamond e for jad

Hallying Jad might be a good idea. You're much better off relying on Jad's visual cues than his auditory cues, especially since by the time you hear his range attack, it's already too late. Bring a rune thrownaxe to spec the healers.

I no-sounded Jad, just use his visual cues.

the only time you should be paying attention to sounds is when jad is off screen. Once you can see him, ignore the sounds and look at him.

Dudes...I got to wave 54. and had a lag spike, and totally ran right under the 360, and since I was down to 450 lp from the blood bolts i totally got ko'd. So embarrasing. XD

kxbow is the fastest for ranging IMO.

use visuals except for the first few attacks and the healers.

I assume by bloods you mean rubies? Cause those aren't really recommended. I used a crystal bow (with a soul wars cape) because it is so damn easy. Nothing to worry about, no bolts flying, just 2.5k shots and +12 prayer. Then I switched to a rune crossbow with diamond (e) for Jad. You lose some money on the bolts but I had around 5 brews 10 restores left before Jad (where I died ofc) and my range level was 79.

 

It's worth noting that melee is a good way to complete the caves, faster than range. With your stats you can pretty much afford to bring a full change of gear so I'd just melee anything then switch to range gear for the 360's and Jad (and maybe the 180's). No need to use Guthans but you can use Verac's with any non-Verac barrows plate or Bandos, whip + defender, then pray piety all the time.

Thanks! And yea, I totally thought Manistinks said blood bolts. I was like wtf? Why not broad? Thats why I should never do caves at 3am.Haha. Ruby e were awful, they were speccing on the lvl 22's, essentiallly hitting 20s on me.

First hit he fires, I hear the sound and I *right* away pray magic and he still hits me? wtf? NOW GET THIS! as soon as i get hit for the 850 from mage, i auto switch back to range. guess waht? next attack is range. I STILL GET HIT. ??? Wtf is going on? I've had it this that damn minigame, I don't understand how those lvl 73s with 34 range beat this [cabbage].

Hmm....I'd say get 1 more mage level to pot up for Vengeance. That could make a huge difference, seeing as Jad only has 2550 LP. Then with extremes/dclaws/piety you might have a chance of rushing him.

True. To be completely frank, I don't mind dying. I mind that everytime I die its within the first few hits or so. It's not like each death I get closer and closer to his death. I never once even get to the healers. So if you want to extrapolate that, that means I'll get it around the 20th try. Hah .. =\

Use a rune c'bow, broads for caves, diamonds for jad. Only listen to the sounds when he's off-screen. When you can see him, start watching him. As for a shield, anything is fine.

c bow > rcb. i've hit nothing but crap with rcb.

It'd be even better to use full void with SW cape eagle eye and karil's cbow so you can get to Jad really fast.

I totally recommend you doing the claws + veng thing

Make him go to 60% hp and then spec him double times bam u win (unless you fail claws then sorry)

 

Ur set up seems okay, but crystal bow is really obsolete with broad bolts now. I would use d boots btw.

When he's offscreen, you really need to be able to do it by sound. But if you can see him and are having trouble, try just leaving magic prayer on and switching to range only when he raises his feet to stomp. After you see the 0, switch back to magic prayer. This is similar to how you melee Jad.
