Mio
Okay, Straight to the point, I've tried 6 times now, 5 of those times Jad has owned me... Why? Because I was too panicy and failed the prayer switiching by a second... I tried being ever so slightly drunk, But then I forgot to put on prayer altogether... :-| So, Does anybody out there have any tips on how to keep cool and calm when fighting Jad? Owned_Nex
Look at the vids of people killing Jad in a few seconds. THen remind yourself he is just a fat pig. Dungeoneering isn't a skill. John Halo Chief
I just got my fire cape today after my fourth attempt. It was actually pretty easy. When you get to wave 61, kill the 360 and 1 180 and half-kill the other. Get your nerves settled, then kill it. Kill the 2 360's that come next, and think about how easy it will be. Every time I fight Jad he spawns south of Italy, so it's pretty easy for me, but it varies. Bowing head and Retriubtion prayer = Mage, stomping feet and no noise = Range. BloodAngel
I haven't got the fire cape yet, but my most successful attempts (ie not getting floored by Jad instantly due to panic praying) came about from just getting myself into a prayer rhythm first, making sure I was feeling good about praying against his attacks before I actually engaged him in combat. That way I only had to worry about prayer and healing rather than attacking as well. I actually got within one dart of killing him last time but I suffered a timely bout of lag and died.I'm sure people will say this is a waste of time/prayer but it worked for me at calming my nerves and up until the point at which I died I hadn't taken any damage at all. Good luck! :^_^: "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."

Yeahh, I understand all of that, I let my nerves settle, have a 20 minute break before the 360 360 wave, Go back in, Jad comes, I put on my prayers, Everything is going fine, THEN I start panic clicking when the healers come out and I end up failing. :/
John Halo Chief
Ah. I see your problem. Healers are nothing to be afraid of, just hit them once and get them on you. Then continue the routine: Mouse over whatever prayer you aren't using, and don't get jumpy. Trying it in the morning when you're tired works, too, or maybe at midnight or something. Madouge
One thing I found extremely helpful is getting into the habit of using the shortcut to the prayer interface, I can't remember which Fkey it is though. That sounds like a pretty good idea... So I might do all the waves at night time, Log out before the 360 360 wave, wake up in the morning and do it... But I could be tired and fail the switiching even more.. But it's worth a shot. I guess... One thing I found extremely helpful is getting into the habit of using the shortcut to the prayer interface, I can't remember which Fkey it is though. Already use them for quick potion drinking... First time I tried using them I forgot what key to press and managed to get myself K.Oed... But alot of practise outside there, They should be alot more useful now... Troacctid
Watch Youtube videos of people fighting Jad. Have Runescape open in another window. Stand by a prayer altar and practice prayer switching along with the video. Practice fighting the healers along with the video as well by shooting nearby enemies in between prayer switches. (The Ardougne Monastery works fine for this purpose.) Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
Hegelstad
I heard logging out after the 360's and having yourself do 20 pushups in a row will lessen your adrenaline (nervous) level, this way you'll stay more calm when doing actions. People has confirmed it's working. So I would give that a shot! :D GL My lame drops:6 Effigys1 D Med - 1 D Dagger1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody
Dupin
Get a good night of sleep the night beforehand, and have a good meal. Taking care of your body will make you less twitchy and more self-controlled. Also, I wouldn't drink energy drinks or caffeine beforehand.

My_Eggs
Well next time I get a tzhaar task, I'm going to go through it up until the wave before jad, log out, and do what my RS name says. I'm always calm and cool after a few rips, so if you're 420 friendly, maybe try that. I guess you could just turn friends and everything to "Off" and then you wouldn't have any distractions. Hell, even go get some McDonalds beforehand if you think you'll be craving it. However you end up doing it though, I wish you the best of luck. 99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving.
