Is a bandos chestplate worth buying?

Featured Replies

This time I don't have to sell anything.

Is a bandos chestplate worth buying?

The problem there is that your going to be 85 melees and such, but your prayer will hold you back in pretty much everything, so overall better not to get the top and make do with any top/barrows/rune/torso, and spend some money getting some skills up.

Well, I could spend the leftover money on prayer, I have a gilded altar with marble burners so I can train quickly.

Maybe off topic but marble burners are pointless, they have the same effect as normal burners :P

Worth for buying, yes, the strongest non-deg platebody with strenght bonus. Worth for you to buy, no, like others have said get 70 pray.

Or then just buy it and try and see if you find it useful, not like you couldn't sell it back.

Would D bones be a good one to use?

What can I use piety for, because it has such a large prayer drain?

Yep. You should invest in some decent prayer gear (verac's skirt and such), and then you can piety your slayer tasks. Besides, piety is a nice prayer to have.

Actually, Dragon Platebody has better stats then BCP. BCP just has some +str.

I'd say OP should go for 70 prayer then spend the rest of the money on a Dragon Plate.

Go for 70 prayer, but please do not buy a dragon plate. Either choose high defense and go with a barrows top or go with the strength bonus of a BCP. Degrading is so cheap it is negligible.

Kinda offtopic but Bandos has better crush and ranged def bonuses. :P

Like stated, get 70 prayer first using D Bones with a Gilded Alter. If you still want to buy a BCP, make sure you don't go broke. Save yourself enough money so you still have some.

It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

As far as upgrades go, Bandos Chestplate is one of the low-tier ones. The boost it offers is pretty marginal compared to barrows, whereas something like piety or a fury ammy gives a much more significant boost.
