CastleWars3
Ok so i've decided i want 90 att & str before i move on to do anything else, but im not sure what to do. Slayer seems good for money and keeps stuff interesting, but seems a bit slow. But power training is super boring so i dont know what to do now. I have a slayer helm and i would be using a whip & kuradel/sumona for easier tasks..but whats better? slayer? or powertraining? (ex. azs & ape atoll) also how long would it take doing each (slayer and powertraining) 99 Fletching - 08/14/08Fire Cape - 3/7/09Quest Cape - 12/29/0999 Defense - 3/17/

manitstinks
You're going to have to train slayer soone or later so why not train it with your melée skills?
Bladewing
In the end, the only reason to slay is for slayer xp. If you don't care about slayer levels then don't do it. It is not amazing money, xp or charms. You're going to have to train slayer soone or later so why not train it with your melée skills?>implying that everyone intends to max out>implying you cannot train slayer if you are already 99 melees>implying that, for players who intend to max, that xp past 99 is somehow wasted How to Chin Nechyraels for fast XP and profit
CastleWars3
Ya but it wouldn't be half bad getting more slayer lvls..but its mainly for the 90 att and str ..slayer would be just a bonus getting me exp and cash 99 Fletching - 08/14/08Fire Cape - 3/7/09Quest Cape - 12/29/0999 Defense - 3/17/

Grimy_Bunyip
just do slayer, you're less likely to regret slayering than you are to regret power training.
Troacctid
Slayer is actually pretty fast with the slayer hat bonus, plus ferocious rings for some tasks. Especially if you select your blocked tasks to maximize melee xp. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
noble_aloof
if you ever plan on getting above 80 summoning i'd advise slayer. Aiel
Slayer is actually pretty fast with the slayer hat bonus, plus ferocious rings for some tasks. Especially if you select your blocked tasks to maximize melee xp.this. Hellhounds, greater demons, gargoyles, dark beasts, and living rock creatures are all actually FASTER then powertraining if you piety. DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers ringsQBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow partsCR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size....It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty). Bloodstain
The way I look at it, slayer is for the most part jack of all trade but master of none. When you train slayer, you're training slayer and combat and summoning (charms). Even though it isn't the best all the time for combat/summoning, you're killing three birds with one stone
SirIzenhime
Training Slayer gives more Total XP then powertraining assuming you do it right, and get average tasks. (not if your mast assigns you Steel/iron dragons every time :P)I've also personally hated camping at just one kind of monster for training, so I loved slayer for it's variety, it never got boring to me. Sometimes I'll still do a few slayer tasks for fun. It's now definitely more efficient than traditional training. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
Obtaurian
Before effigies, slayer begot more total experience, but less experience in specific skills than powertraining. Effigies make slayer undeniably better. However, it DOES depend on what you intend to do with your account. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off. Sir_Kurity
You're going to have to train slayer soone or later so why not train it with your melée skills? Why? Its not like you need it for any bosses or any particularly great ways of making money... O.O
Vulxai
Well at higher slayer levels, you can make some decent money. I'm not saying they're amazing, and you should do that instead of TD's, but it's alright. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
essal
Slayer should be considered doing for XP in the combat skills you're training, Slayer XP, charms and money. Money can more easily be obtained through GWD, TDs, DKs tbh and charms could more easily be obtained through waterfiends. You could just AFK at AZs and still gain charms + money, you know. Slayer is OK and doesn't get boring that easily, but if you just AFK train while on YouTube/Skype for example, then 90s in attack/strength will be obtained in no time :)
z0diark
Zarfot provides a good arguement for slayer over other methods of combat training on the first page of his slayer guide: http://[Use Quick Find Code]/[Please Use QuickFind Code]?98,99,600,61329204 Personally I'd say go with slayer, it's pretty fast exp, fairly entertaining and is a decent source of cash and charms. Steel_Artist
I would recommend slayer. It's slower, but it's not as boring and it's more efficient in the long run.
