Dungeoneering seems... out of place. I think IRC Gaming should be included, it's a major part of the tavern now.

Rocco, in case you haven't noticed, there's been a massive activity spike due to Space. Ross' new D'neering seems promising too.

Yeh it is dead but its only dead because.

  •
  • People aren't playing as many games as before.
  • People are putting less effort into games.
  • No new comers are entering.
  • No original idea's are coming out.
  • Three users are inactive.
  • I've not been whinging for about a month about new games being made.
  • Space is played by nearly everyone but isn't the sort of game that gets discussion about new games going.

People are putting less effort into games.

No new comers are entering.

No original idea's are coming out.

Three users are inactive.

I've not been whinging for about a month about new games being made.

Space is played by nearly everyone but isn't the sort of game that gets discussion about new games going.

1. Hegemony VS Space, Dungeoneering 6 and HegeRomey.

2. Apart from those 2 new people that joined Space...Vs the Retech, who joined Hegemony.

3. Except Space...Vs...Silently nuking walls?

4.RPG, Walker and Grim Vs Nero, Doom and Grim.

5. Hex is Hex

6. Ross was inspired to do another Dungeoneering...Vs Hegemony...which never spawned one new game.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I'm with Retech on this one. Saying the tavern's dead is a self fulfilling prophecy.

And Rocco, space doesn't really generate pages because it's played through IRC. I think it would probably match dungeoneering, but IRC is a better format anyway.

Rocco, in case you haven't noticed, there's been a massive activity spike due to Space. Ross' new D'neering seems promising too.

Space has had activity, sure, but it's nothing compared to the 35 pages the old Dungeoneering would get in a day. Soon Space will fade out. The fact is too many users have moved on and there is nobody who can replace them.

Three players have left since the formation of the tavern!

Five players have joined and are active.

New players can replace them.

Nex, I've fixed dungeoneering.

UNSTICKY EVERYTHING AND REPLACE THEM WITH THESE TWO POSTS PLEASE.

Help & Introductions

‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾

Introductions

Slightly tired you stumble up to the door of the quiet building to find rest for the night, you notice an ill tended to sign hanging vertically, held only by a decrepit piece of rotting wood. You see it reads 'ԲaladØr TДveЯn', slightly scared you feel glad you can finally get a drink. Placed in the middle of a forest the building seems abandoned.

You observe the rotting door and notice a brass gargoyle knocker fixed in the middle of the door, knocking twice to make sure nobody's inside you wait for a reply.

Staring at the knocker you see its mouth open, dismissing it as a trick of the light at first you hear a voice.

"Evening, Newcomer. You are permitted to enter" Screeched the gargoyle in a deathly voice that made you cover your ears.

The door opens, inside is a relatively pleasant abode, filled with pirates, wizards, trolls, Tinkers and a variety of other dwellers. You take a step into the bar hoping to ask for a drink from the eyepatch donning Landlord but instead the pub enters silence. everyones looks at you; the newcomer.

"Arrr Well, tell us who you are then!" shouts a pirate in the corner who recieves a cheer from the fellow Taverners

Help

With no idea what to do the Landlord looks at you with his single eye, he looks grizzled and old but despite this is he's looking thin and happy as ever. The Landlord picks up a seat for you and sits you at a table, hands you your drink of choice (if your under eighteen this will be fruit juice) and begins to speak.

'Do you have any questions? Nows the time to ask'

We've had a lot of Dungeoneering and Hegemony styled games. In the defence of Hegemony though, it did spawn all the other Hegemony games.

Also, Nex + Earth joined Dungeoneering, so I think Dungeoneering seems to be the most popular form of game (I'm sorta lumping Space into this too)

Someone has been looking at my profile page

Nex, I've fixed dungeoneering.

How, exactly?

Did you take over Ross and post the new Dungeoneering...

Space has between 11,000 and 44,000 words per session.

If there are 20 words per post and 20 words per page, that is between 27.5 and 110 pages!

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Yeh, but thats because you allow loads of off topic discussion.

No, Archi I changed it from 'Dungeoneering, wrestle a bear, fire an arrow, teleport a bathtub' to what it is now because it was very very out of place.

We could probaly remove half of the stuff for random comments and mistypings and whatnot, but it seems pretty clear that Space is more active than Dungeoneering. The only difference is that Dungeoneering goes up faster because it is usually daily, but Space has shorter actions (because it's IRC). As a whole, I think it evens out pretty nicely, since there's only so fast the moderator can go.

Anywho, I was just looking through the "topics I've posted" section of my profile page as well as Archi's. Ahhhh nostalgia. The constant warring, the Mongolian threat, the betrayal of the coalition by Doom, Ross' crazy contraptions and citadel, Archi's equal crazy ships which I completely unbalanced and nerfed several times, and the trading system which I made but completely botched. The memories. :)

Icon, I repeat, I never read your thread and neither did anyone else. You have no more influence on this forum than anyone else, Poseidon and Meguy were about as consequential.

Its fairly straight forward.

I stole Role to Dodge from Songhoi.

I used Role to Dodge to create Dungeoneering.

I then gave Dungeoneering to Ross.

Ross used Dungeoneering to create Ross Dungeoneering.

Ross gave Ross Dungeoneering to Retech.

Retech used Ross Dungeoneering to create Retech Dungeoneering.

Various people took Retech, Ross or Original Dungeoneering and created their own games.

Then

I used Dungeoneering to create Space.

Ross used Space to create Dungeoneering Version 6.

Evolution at work...I will make a diagram.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Do you remember the evolution of Hegemony games?

Yep.

First Hegemony is started by some guy inadvertently starting it in OT.

Second Hegemony, AKA the space movement, was started in a new thread in OT as a space continuation of First Hegemony, which was then moved to the newly created tavern. This caused a bunch of people to stop playing.

Second Hegemony ends, with Dusty as the victor.

A bunch of smaller Hegemony-themed games crop up, some last for a few months, some for a few days.

Well we all knew that, but like the complete history of all the Hegemonies, from the successful to the ones that didn't really get up off the ground.

Archi's original Dungeoneering/Roll to Dodge = Charlamagne (Ancestor of all the other Dungeoneering games)

Retech's/Ross' Dungeoneering = Queen Victoria (Inbreeding causes threads to quickly suffer abandonment)

Right side of diagram = To other families of Dungeoneering games

I wonder how the Hegemony tree will look.
