Eh, I don't want anyone breaking their scanners by accident.

Aside from that, I'm a mod, I can just delete the post!

Too late for that Nex, and you might want to revise the method of destruction, if some nanites were to enter and scan your brain, there'd be no way for them to implode (they're already as compact as they can get), so instead they would turn into razor-sharp pancakes as they are squashed, severing neural pathways, turning you into a vegetable.

Lee, a lobotomy would turn you as compliant as SI on truth serum and a drop of cyanide would make sure you could never refuse anything ever again.

*Sigh*

I wasn't being serious, you know. And nanites probably can't do that, and most of the stuff you say, considering how the mod laughs at them. Plus, everything you attempt is as doomed to fail due to moderator prejudice as everything Dusty attempts is fated to succeed for the same reason. Technology doesn't matter when you can intimidate a Brit from behind a monitor in Canada.

Nex, if they can control your brain then they can definatly scan it (not as in remote, but physically learning from it by examining your neural pathways).

They cannot control my brain. Even if you could come up with legitimate reasoning enough to make it plausible, I of all people would certainly manage safeguards.

I would rather work with a number I can understand, so that I can actually make stuff for it too. A cost of operation for something that does not have a generator of its own is a useless number and an annoyance and hindrance for the gamer, as there's nothing to base alternatives on, I have no idea wether it needs simply a solar panel and a large battery or a helios plant and a supercapacitor.

Wouldn't it therefore make more sense to ask how many kT a solar panel and a helios plant would generate...

And explain what each of them is....since I have no idea on the latter and the former could mean a whole number of things.

Dusty attempts is fated to succeed for the same reason. Technology doesn't matter when you can intimidate a Brit from behind a monitor in Canada.

Dusty is more fated to succeed because he made himself Captain, didn't bother making a supersuit, and said 'Build a ship without interest in the cost'...using 40 odd sessions worth of everyone else's hard graft to build a supership.

As has happened before myself and Dusty have reached an impasse.

if they can control your brain then they can definatly scan it

As shown by electric powertools...

Also controlling muscles doesn't require control of the brain...Merely bypassing it.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Nex, you are forgetting that nanites are apparently magical.

2Xeo5.png

Nex, until you can prevent them, they can, that's what happened to me and Lee, Retech was in control of us.

And the talk of research in the back room made me come up with an idea related to how the ZPMs' cores would have to be built up, we might be able to actually use it for some pourpose. A quark fog, releasing rouge quarks into a sealed vacuum might have some good effects, either in generating power or maybe a way to generate a new kind of energy weapon, and the good thing about it, a such device should be possible to make in any size, even small enough to fit on a lvl 19 nanite, since their working components are sub-atomic particles.

Archi, you wouldn't mind giving me a clue as to what such a device would do, would you?

Indeed.

And it's gotten to the point where I'm heavily tempted just to give up and quit Space. I don't feel like spending one session in every solar system before moving on, nor do I feel like going on a genocidal spree against all the rest of the universe under a jackass Admiral.

Until now Space has been played for fun, and now Dusty is playing to win. I can't believe you didn't keep all the protocols in check, Ross. I especially can't concieve how he even got his hands on ALL our resources, did you not have any safeguards in place?

Quarks would need to be generated from somewhere...so the power generation capacity is null.

And Quarkbased weapons are possible, but rather weak compared to proton weapons...about 1/3rd of the power.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

There was nothing I could do, and I'm wondering why you are still blaming it on me. He had higher access than I did, end of story.

Also, are you sure that isn't just the meds talking?

Roughly the same.

Anyway, if everything goes horribly wrong and the game dies then it will just get reborn and people will hopefully not make the same mistakes.

Or we will just rewind to just before Dusty attacked.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

What about anti-photon, would that be possible. Not as a weapon though, as a sort of field or layer to protect from light, lasers, magnetism, x-rays and gamma-rays.

That fact is forever embedded into my brain because I got it wrong in an exam.

It is still sort of odd, though.

How about Taus and Anti-Taus?

EDIT: Or what about gravitinos?

I'm playing for fun.

And lol.

Nex, you could try diplomacy or alliances, instead of giving up immediately. At least let things run their course and see how it turns out.

As I recall, you also threatened to quit when I was stealing all the research points, but you stuck through it. :)

As I said, I'm tempted. But so long as something's fun about Space, as it probably will be with Archi as mod, I'll probably stay.

How about Taus and Anti-Taus?

FIRE THE NORWEGIAN VILLAGE!

Half life is way to low to be of much use.

Their size is too small to be of much effect on their own.

Their energy requirement would make them extreme high energy weapons...

So basically ripper beams.

gravitinos

Were disproved with the collapse of the Standard Model.

And Retech...I am reminded of the tale of the man, the stick and the bear.

The Man, got a stick and poked the bear. The Bear, being tired, ignored the man the first time he poked it with a stick. So the man poked the bear again, and then the bear ripped the man's face off.

Nex...and everyone else for that matter, doesn't need to be goaded into action...or mocked for their inaction.

So please, don't do it.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

What in the world :???: ......never mind  . I don't want to know. Hmmm.......... Have there been any days where the crew just goofs off all day? Or is that strictly a no-no :shame: ?

Lynx, look through the first... I don't know, thirty or so sessions? Maybe twenty?
