And I'm only doing some simple base scans on the human-inhabited planets. Not much, but it's the most plausible way to net myself an AI of my own.

Just a request, but no one sell the schematics for the gamma pulse torpedoes or the graviton hellbores. I intended them as ship-crew only weapons, so if some empire is using them outside the ship, I'll keep weapon designs stored safely somewhere on the ship, and I'll distribute those weapons upon request.

 

I am already doing this with chemical weapons, since having two people using them is unlikely to be any better than one.

 

 

 

If even these measures are not sufficient, then I'll keep the weapons a secret and inform the captain and co-captain.

All my schematics are... wait, I never drew schematics. And most of my creations have only one or two in existence, explode when activated, and/or are on my person at all times. So there's really no chance to take my work and distribute it without my knowledge.

I can make PDWs for other people is they're good enough.

 

I may also lisence a single producer to mass produce it in return for sponsoring us with both cash and weapons.

I'd rather make my own weapons than have them sent to me by a company. Makes maintenance easier, plus it makes me less likely to be apathetic towards losing it. (not to mention all the weird stuff you can do to it and not worry about a warranty...)

Well, it's not an AI, but rather an SIU (Sentient Intelligence Unit). For some reason, I had to pay all my credits for it even though I was promised a full AI and it was implied to be free with completion of the mission.

Icu, you can't copyright shotguns, and you can't copyright anti proton tech. We had anti proton beams before we started, so I assume it's already been created and is in use on Earth.

 

Scopes can't really be copyrighted unless there is some revolutionary design involved, which, given that it is level 1, there is not.

 

I'm not sure about specifics, but I think the above two also apply to the sniper.

I can agree to this as well... considering that some of my tech could be considered "new" as well.

 

Except I will be keeping 1 ace up my sleeve in case of another "fun with AI" situation.

A) You can use it for the good of the ship, but if you sell it off I'll ask for the person to be imprisoned in their private quaters, and pay a fine (200% of what they got for the weapon)

If you sell to one person, the design will inevitably become widespread, meaning we may well see our own weaponry being used against us.

 

I only have the good of the ship and it's crew in mind. If we are to be actively engaging in combat, we want as many advantages as possible, and technological is one such advantage.
