A Time for Glory Planning Thread

If you recall, Spain had complete knowledge of the upcoming attack and prepared fully for it, with a plan to counter everything within the attack. The hulls of the ships weren't considerably stronger than a regular ship of the same size, meaning they were easily targeted by a prepared defence on shore.

That and the betrayal by Doom's fleet contributed to the chaos that made it difficult for the far superior weaponary of Archi's superweapon ships from having as much of an effect.

Yup...In that battle you didn't need to nerf to balance...but in previous battles my ships, far from being worth equal to their price, or to their prior level of destruction, turned into useless ships.

And given the ships were made out of a material stronger than steel, compared to an age of wood...

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Unfortunately I think that I did nerf the ships a bit too much (or at least didn't inform Archi well enough when he was doing the planning stages). Sorry.

And if it's over and done, why did you bring it up again Nex?

Material stronger than steel? O-o?

I know there are stronger things out there than steel, but not readily available and cost efffective to produce in that amount required to build a small armada.

Unless.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Thanks tech =)

Anywho, I am not too bothered about what has past....I just want to make sure that kind of thing doesn't happen again...And only I, myself, seems to have the amount of free time to research, in depth, all the random stuff people come up with...Thus, I think a structured system, with defined...or at least hinted...stats would be good.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Logical extrapolation

Archi: I can build a material stronger than steel for my ships in the middle ages.

Icu: They are not readily available and cost effective in that amount required to build a small armada. Unless...

Retech: Since we can build such a material in the middle ages, we can build even better ones today! Goooooo tanks!

Is anyone but me willing to switch to an allied power from an axis one? Because I'm willing to do so but I'd rather not be piled 2:1. Oh and Nex, battle walkers (unless you could get them to run) would be less mobile and slower than your average WWI tank (trust me on this one).

Well then, I guess I'll take France in this (and hope that arch joins my side). If dusty shows up and takes russia as he said he would I may switch back to Austria Hungary though.

I believe Dusty wanted to be one of the allies. It'd be nice if we could get sere back to play as Russia too.

As for changing teams, In this alternate history, WWI did break out, but had relatively little fighting. The stalemate lasted for 4 years, and on November 11, 1918, a white peace was signed between all nations. Japan and China are still at war, but the rest of the world is in a temporary, unstable peace. Betraying your allies is allowed, but there will be consequences, and the NPCs on your side will likely turn on you. All NPC's will be proxied by me, and will defend themselves, send troops to aid their side, and occasionally attack if the game gets dull.

Will the provincial value map be up tonight? (And possibly the infrastructure values for our countries)

I'd like a chance to critique (synonym for argue with me :P) them.

Mmmmm IAG works pretty well...I would dump Aid Missions though, terribly idea in retrospect.

GDP is too written about, there are too many theories and jazz...Like research, with reasonable people, who are all on the same page, its fine...When people are unreasonable, or on different pages, the system explodes.

AIG never worked because the infrastructure system was flawed. Your country could get chopped in half, and you could just dump all your remaining money into Infra. and it would all be fixed. With the province system you at least know the value of the land you conquered. Dusty's province system was flawed though because land in the African desert was equal to farmland or forests. With this I've tried to combine the two so you have provinces with different values and and an infrastructure system so land isn't everything.
