Story of the Year did that at once of their concerts, and that was the most insane thing I've ever seen. Wall of Death is just what the name says, I guarentee people die from that cabbage, but I would love to be a part of one. Coolest thing I've ever seen in my entire life.

SOTY has some of the most insane shows ever. I went to one of theirs and, just... man... They go crazy flipping everywhere.. it's awesome. :P

Yeah, I haven't seen that Slipknot thing but apparantly I know some people who went to Big Day Out last year and apparantly it was just a huge sea of people raising from the floor. Sounds pretty spectacular.

Only been to two proper concerts so I've never moshed. One was A Perfect Circle, and Maynard is a tight-arse so he didn't want people crowd surfing and stuff, and the other was at a seated venue. Kinda interested to try it out once or twice, but I'm not keane on going in there and getting the [cabbage] kicked out of me. I'm just worried I'll be so jammed that I can't breathe.

2 step is part of hardcore dancing, and during breakdowns you slam dance which is where the spin kicks and such come in.

That hardcore dancing crap is one of the worst trends i've seen in recent years. A bunch of people standing on the spot, kicking the air - they should stick to tae bo conventions.

Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.

Yeah I agreee, I love going to gigs, pitting, coming home bruised, just part of the fun.

But 1/2 the people there don't know how to pit or just do the most [developmentally delayed]ed things there.

i have to say that the whole scene here (denver) has gone downhill. the hxc dancers get mad at the moshers and visa verca. personally i prefer the metal pits, but my favorite music is post hardcore stuff. the worst thing is the two stepping... ugh

moral of the story:

hardcore cds > metal cds, yet metal shows > hardcore shows

Brr. That sounds pretty scary. I'm a big guy and so, but I'd rather not go in a 'mosh pit'.

It might be fun, I'm not sure. My brother's have gone to them. They always come home bruised, and they are always getting kicked in the head by crowd sailers. My one bro went to an outside tour, and he came home sneezing out mud for the next few days. And people always break there legs and get stomped. It might be fun, but none of the music I'm into is the sort that would require lots of headbanging/crowd sailing/people punching.
