i noticed people tryin out these "small" cities in pixel

 

 

 

i came up with an idea

 

 

 

how bout a pixel city of runescape

 

 

 

like people design parts and submit

 

 

 

we might end up with a big isometric rs map!

 

 

 

i am not starting the thing, its just a suggestion and i wont be contributing to it also, thats for 2 reasons

 

 

 

1) my pc is not working ( i m at cyber cafe)

 

 

 

2) i am a starter at pixels ( i know how to make em but not gud enuf )

Make a isometric pixel map of rs, simialr in style to the two current pixel cities, but of course this would invovle making actual rs landmarks eg the castlewars

Lol would be pretty impossible to do (there's too much runescape!), but it would be awesome if it was done. :P

we'd need to take it serious, better quality buildings.. Like get together a team, and collab.

Team work is definately the way to go, but u'd have to pick carefully.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Because of all the newer pixellers there are some gd ones tht you could easily annoy majorly by not including them in the team, of course u'd annoy all the noob pixellers who r around at tht time, but since they vanish in about a month unless they r smart enouhg to realise they r rubbish and practice thts no biggy

lol, if peopel are really serious about making the whole rs map, then I think the best way to go is to make a set of tiles and then just put those together,

Most of the textures, buildings and items look the same anyway, and for the unique stuff, someone can just do those seperately.

You could have people submit work but it has to pass before its allowed and put on by one of the "better" pixelers (dont take it offensively anyone, you know what i mean). If its isometric the image should pass as truly iso and correct shading.

lol, if it was ever done, propably only the cities will be worth having on tip.it :lol:

This idea was attemped last year, mainly Varrock was roughly finished. It's an insane project if attempted at the highest level of accuracy, I suggest starting small like only concentrating on a city or town. Another option is to make a really zoomed out view of the RS world with only main stuff put into the map which covers everything. These are just my ideas but GL however you go about this.

If it is attempted, I'd be glad to help out :D

It would be absolutely amazing. I'm not that good at pixel but I could try and help a bit. Maybe a team should be assorted and get together in a group.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

One problem is time though. A project like this takes a lot of time and work and i'm not sure everyone can work for as long as is needed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As was mentioned earlier a lot of the building do look the same. You can get round this by not doing individual cities of runescape but just a group of the differrent more abstract buildings.

If it was attempted I willingly help out

i mean if we have the roads right we can just place stuff and buildings rite in place as they are made

 

 

 

and the buildings can be replaced by better ones as they come

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

like some person x makes varrock west bank

then after some time person y makes a better varrock west bank

 

 

 

we replace x's bank by y's

 

 

 

that way the quality will remain the best

Why don't you just do a smaller part? Maybe a single big city? Just the f2p area?
