Hunter

Hunter is one of my least favourite skills but I've decided that before I go back to F2P I'm going to try to get most (if not all) stats to 80+.

My question is simple; What is the best method to go from 70 to 80 hunter? Does not have to be absolute best exp/h if that requires constant clicking and a tight focus. PLEASE do not suggest red chins because trying to hunt there is just suicide with all the bots around.

If you could also tell me aproximate exp/h rates that I could get (as an average player, not as an efficiency freak), that would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

OTM

At 70, don't bother with Jadinkos, wait until you got witchdoctor gear (requires 72 hunt).

Hunt red salamanders, use an arctic bear. Get witchdoctor @ 72 hunt (guide in AOW general guides) and then do jads w/ scentless & bear.

wow, tell me, how do you get witchdoctor at 72? - when you need to catch a god jadinko from lv 81?

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

You need to catch all jadinkos in a weak to be able to buy 1 of the witchdocter pieces.. The highest being the 3 god jadinkos. These jadinkos require lvl 81 to catch...

I mean the top + legs which you can get at 72. You need 73 for the mask.

You need all regular ones for top/legs, the god ones are for the mask.

And how are you going to buff 8 levels then? You know invisible (from summon) boosts don't work?

Yes you can boost hunter by 8 by using the Ooglog mud pool.

Yes you can boost hunter by 8 by using the Ooglog mud pool.

And then you suggest logging every minute to prevent the reduction? Guess it is possible..

However also when I was hunting I noticed that I only started to catch at a regular interval when my level was like 10 levels higher than the requirement..

(IE: commons became only good xp after 73 hunting)..

I would personally recommend you to hunt jadinkos from 73 onwards: the seeds you'll get are invaluable (alright maybe not if you go f2p, but when you come back it'll probably still be amazing to use juju potions).

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

Logging every minute works, but usually there's no need, I got all jads without logging, within a minute each. Though it's important to make sure you jump into the pool at the start of a stat reset cycle, not at the end.

Okay, thanks for all of that. A few things though,

1 - I don't have access to Ooglog pools and I'm not a fan of doing quests.

2 - I have 60 days of P2P left so these seeds you talk of could be usefull to me yet (don't know when or if I'll become P2P again in the future)

Does this jadinko hunting take any requirements (other then levels) or any extensive preperation? I'm not really planning on doing this all on one shot so if it takes a significant amount of time to prepare, it may not be worth it for me because I want to hunt in small time intervals over these next 60 days so I don't kill myself (I don't like hunter!!!!).

Also, does anyone have a rough estimate of exp rates for red sallies and jadinkos?

Sadly there are no methods of hunting that don't require lots of clicking and focus if you want the best exp.

From lvl 70 to whenever you feel like switching over your options are red salamanders, falconry with a bonecrusher, or penguin hunting (not the D&D, actually hunting them). Hunting Jadinko's then becomes the best way to level due to the superior or at least on par experience plus the benefit of the herbs and seconds for literally game breaking potions. At your level exp/hr estimates don't really matter because the levels are still coming so quickly.

I got my farming juju's last night after being a stubborn idiot and putting it off for these last few months and have now made 1.2 mil today just off of three farming runs of snapdragons.

Hunt jadinkos until 95 if you have the agility level for barehanded black warlocks. If you don't have the agility level stay at jadinkos.

I actually did 70-80 at jadinkos.

It goes ok without the wichdoctor gear as long as you remove the scent of the traps! So use torches or scentless potion.

Needless to say it is better with whichdoctor gear. But I never did the pool thing.

I only used hunter potions, which only raises the level with 3.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the camouflage gear matters a lot. So although zotto is right that you can do it without camo, do yourself a favour and finish that quest (there's plenty of good walkthroughs, one on Tip.It of course :)).

First of all do the quest

Secondly, this guide will literally teach you everything you'd ever want to know about the minigame. I just followed the getting started section and in under an hour I had everything I'm ever going to need to know down to a T.

http://forum.tip.it/topic/281681-herblore-habitat/

When I was doing red sallys from 69-80 I maxed at about 70-75 k exp/hr with no boosts. The guide I linked also has exp/hr listed for the most common ways of hunting jadinkos.
