Yeah they decided to give some actual useful rewards for the hours upon hours put in to get the tickets.

"useful" as in an extremely niche use item, and some stuff that only helps within the minigame.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.

It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

The halos are actually a very nice invisible prayer bonus, right? They enable you to pray the entire time you're fighting somewhere and cut down on how many prayer pots you would have to use while you can keep up the prayers. Halos also seem to have an amazing magic defense. They are a neat item to come from much time spent in CW, which as was said, didn't use to have anything "useful" to take outside of the minigame.

Currently: Using 63 hunter to get some of those "Chins", then I'm going to range stuff down. Interruptions of agility when I feel like it, as well.

And lucky enough to get 4 Dragon and 6 Barrow Drops.

[hide]Kwimbob now looks exactly like me in real life except for hair color. Yes, this means I look exactly like the protagonist of that certain anime that my second character, Faye_V is also named after. Yes, I bought a jacket that also looks like his. No in real life I don't have a slain bear to sling over my shoulders. Yes, I'm that skinny even if I no-life it for years in basements. No, I can't shoot a gun. Yes, I can win any other strategic video game you have never played - because I probably have, ahahaha. And yes, I also have brown eyes, yet one of my eyes looks different from the other. And yes, I'm completely oblivious to the [real] world around me as I constantly engineer new solutions to daily problems in my head. When I get hungry, all that isn't food can wait. When I'm sleepy - nothing is of any priority in front of sleep. But at any other time, I never slow down. Never give up. Never Surrender. Makes for a good life.

The bonus only works on certain prayers. Not worth risking equipment that takes 125 hours to obtain for a measly mage bonus that the seers headband/bear helmet can supply. For the time put in, the rewards are some of the worst in the game. IMO, the previous rewards were better (and they were only decorative).

but they all work on the higher level prayers, like chilv, piety, turmoil, ss, and the dg mage/range prayers. so unless your a bit noob, they are useful.

At first I thought you were asking about TeamFortrses 2 unusual hats... But then I reqlized it was about the halos..

I never knew there were particle effects on it.

I have like 170 tickets. Would it be worthwhile to fix a few games with friends to up my ticket count?

I CAN resell the halos back for tickets, like you used to be able to do with the armor, right?

Grimy made a thread earlier stating that haloes are good space savers at Nex. Especially if you go for a leecher + a few people with rigour.

Does it work on soul split? The KB doesn't mention curses at all and RSWiki says it includes saps/leeches and turmoil. Still, it takes approximately 125 hours to obtain this items which has an equivalent of +15 prayer bonus.

EDIT: I just ran a test. Soul split does not work (at least not with the Saradomin Halo)

EDIT 2: Works on turmoil.

So yeah, limited uses for the time put in. So to the guy asking, only play Castle Wars if you find it fun; not worth it for the halo. I personally have over 1,000 tickets that I really wish I didn't have now.

oh my bad, i thought it worked on ss. i consider it a looks item with a nice special effect. I plan on getting a sara one, but im not exactly camping cw for it either.

not worth farming cw for the halo

but if you have the tickets already, it has its uses

a friend of mine is going for 200m str xp (he's almost there), and he says it helps him afk nearly twice as long at azs before he has to pray at the altar

Wouldn't void be better though?

It's very good for places like Nex and DKs where prayer potions are the limiting factor to camping time, and KC/run time take too long.

it's supposedly a 2/3rds prayer drain rate, that does not suffer from diminishing returns like prayer bonus.
