Modern Warfare 3 has just been announced by the unnamed "Infinity Ward."

 

As some of us might know, Infinity Wards lead developers left the company, and Activision due to some "Un-Paid Business." They have just recently announced the new company that is being formed to handle all the onward 'MW' games.

But, as this article is saying, The LA Times has confirmed that Activision Blizzard, Sledgehammer Games, and Raven Software are developing MW3.

What do you guys think about it? It is completely legit, I have seen the cover of the game on gaming magazines such as "Game Informer" and the local gaming papers around my parts.

I hope not. Call of Duty Black Ops only just came out recently, we dont need another one popping out right away. To be honest they should wait a few years if anything, they've used almost every damn war we've had so far (except maybe North Koreas "slip ups")

^Also what Pie said. But then again, it's been announced many many times in the past that there would be a 3rd MW. It was just a matter of when.

 

It was obvious that Activision wants, and has, turned Call of Duty into a cash cow.

Not surprised at all, and Im pretty sure everyone saw this one coming.

A new call of duty game comes out each year.

I didnt quite mean official article, I meant the article from which I was quoting :P

 

But my friends at school have been showing me game informers, the PSN magazine, and some others with MW3 and a silhouette of a guy holding a pistol in the back. Im not positive about it, but honestly its quite believable. They announced MW2 in Feb 2009, and Black ops in March last year.

I don't think we used WWI yet, but trench warfare isn't very fun.

Eh, according to Wikipedia it was announced way back in April. Anyways, many will groan and roll their eyes, but whatever, I liked both MW's for their campaigns.

Typical Activision, milking a franchise until people get tired of it. Granted, CoD will probably last longer than Guitar Hero, but I still think that this won't end well. Just have to wait I suppose. (And play BFBC2 in the meantime.)

Well we all knew MW3 would have to come out some time. The campaign left a huge cliffhanger after you kill Shepard.

Hopefully PC gamers don't get shafted for the third time in a row.

 

And I hope they actually balance the multilayer this time. My beef with MW2 was that the multiplayer felt like "Yeah, let's add a bunch of cool spy gadget stuff and worry about game balance later!"

At least Treyarch are nothing to do with this.

Time difference was almost two years.

MW2 was released on November 10, 2009

Time difference was one year.

Black ops was released on November 9, 2010

The announcement for Modern Warfare 3 caught a lot of people off guard.

What a stupid article.

I'll probably pass. I'll wait for the next Treyarch entry, instead.

 

Also, the games have been rotating companies since COD2.

I'm pretty much finished with Call of Duty now. CoD4 was the best and each successive game put out (by both companies) has got steadily worse (multiplayer wise, I still quite enjoyed the campaign missions).

 

I'll most likely buy it when it comes out but I've got BFBC2 to keep me going at the minute, and Battlefield 3 will be out sometime later as well so if CoD turns out to have another [cabbage] multiplayer, theres plenty other shooters for people to pick up.

I mostly play for the campaigns and really enjoyed each of them right up from when CoD Classic was released. I'd be kinda pissed if MW2 didn't get a sequel after those MASSIVE loose ends.
