Door lag

Has jagex said anything at all relating to it.

I estimate that every time there is doorlag I lag for 4 seconds which means that I waste about 4 minutes due to it in a 60 room dungeon. More than the only reason I die is either doorlag or no prayer, with doorlag being the most common, so I am annoyed by it.

I haven't heard anything.

Tip: if over half the time, you die is due to door lag, I'd recommend NOT going into the door until you see what's in it. Oh, and I'm assuming you know enough to have an emergency gatestone teleport but I'm typing it in anyways because I think it's conceivable that you don't.

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

No, by that I mean I am in a room with a bunch of monsters in it, and then either my team or myself opens a door, and in the 3-4 seconds I lag out, I get comboed hard.

To do that they would have to have the entire dungeon loaded as the floor begins, right? That sounds like a lot of stress on the servers.

Although yeah, they need to think of something to at least lessen door lag.

Loading once = more stress than repeatedly loading over and over throughout the course of the dungeon? I doubt it.

I'd gladly wait 2-3 minutes for a dungeon to be generated and preloaded if it meant no doorlag. God that would be awesome. Start dungeon, grab drink, set up skype call, dungeoneer with 80% fewer deaths.

but yes, i would very much appreciate less door lag and less deaths, consequently. that way when i die, green can say "goddammit jimi..." with good reason.

I thought dungeons were already pre loaded when you started? Like there was already a set layout for the dungeon. Or does it make it up as it goes?

I'd rather it fully load the dungeon (just hiding the rooms until you open them) then have the loading please wait screen every few seconds.

I think it has an idea of what doors will be where when it starts, but doesn't actually generate the graphics/NPCs until you open the door.

Yea, that's sort of what I thought. I don't really know how the whole process works, but I think they should pre-generate them, but keep them hidden until you open them, so it doesn't have to deal with the "loading please wait" everytime

What do you get when 5 clowns with no armour, no hope of lasting more than 5 seconds in any one room, and the inability to stop double clicking on doors before seeing whats in the next room?

Door lag as an excuse for multi-death 20 minute skipfests.

Solution: Just spam ggs tele and you'll be fine since you all bind 120 laws.

I agree with the sentiment that I'd gladly wait five minutes for a DG to pre-load if it would mean there wouldn't be any door lag. The two biggest server-related issues that plague me right now are door lag in DGing and the "account logged in" disconnect bug. Both make me want to drive my fist through my screen.

Thank you for your attempt on offering genuine advice. However I must assumed you either botted or bought your dungeoneering level, as you have no idea how the ggs tele works. It does not negate any damage at all like the regular gatestone tele or allow for progess in the dungeon because you will move nowhere.

You misunderstood what they said, AND you showed your ignorance to how the gatestone works. Normally I don't mind your posts Golv...but this time....l2read.

And green, that's hardly making fun of him...because that's his face when you enter ANY room without armor on :P

Dungeon sweeper has a solution for all situations. (in this case he may back up and select to craft hides)

However, bear in mind, that the number one priority is to make sure that he knows whats in the next room before stepping inside.

This may require some afk manuevers as click clowns run aimlessly through doors activating dungeonsweepers 4 second "I'm not doing a damn thing" mode.

106 dg and doesn't know how a gatestone works. lol.

h&a is absurdly amusing today. thank you brovellius.

Hey its Jaime and he has got a lesson for me today besides learn to play guitar because you can get medical marijuana.

Hey does this lesson go something like click magic teleport button, move accross board to location of little gatestone?

If it does I had ggs all wrong.

I thought ggs meant Get Good Supplies.

So thats when I break out my prom pick and hatchet and gather beyond what I need for dungeon sweeper mode.

Lets face it, there are resources to be had and my teammates have phobias or are just plain incapable of collecting any.

I've seen you bring up the fact that he plays guitar multiple times now in a mocking way. Hey guys, anybody else think that this troll tried guitar lessons in the past and never got the hang of it?

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Riiiiiiiiight. The infamous teammate opening a door would do it.

Can't think of a good solution for opening the door either....um, would it just maybe be possible to open the door and quickly tele before the lag hits...?

Just a thought, although I doubt it'd work, and if it did 9/10 times you probably wouldn't pull it off anyways.

I thought dungeons were already pre loaded when you started? Like there was already a set layout for the dungeon. Or does it make it up as it goes?

Well, it obviously has to have some sort of plan. Determining what rooms have keys, what rooms are/aren't bonus rooms, how the rooms connect would all have to be pre-determined before hand. Just a guess, but maybe it gets loaded upon opening because that's actually how Jagex keeps the rooms hidden from us?

Oh, and they're picking on Golvellius because he's a troll. It's no secret.... I mean, it's in his bleedin' signature for crying out loud. Also, you can't possibly know he never died to door lag, and if he hasn't it might be because he lets his teammates do most of the work. Note the use of the word "might"

Regarding teleporting out right before door lag- even if it did work (which it sometimes would and sometimes wouldn't, in my experience), it'd waste a ton of time. There are all kinds of ways to eliminate deaths by door lag, but they all involve wasting such large amounts of time that it's better to just take the occasional bull [cabbage] death.
