Which mp3 player to buy?

I just found a gift card under my pillow from the swap money for gift cards fairy and I thought I might get some more stuff from ThinkGeek, some physics books from Amazon, and maybe, just maybe an mp3 player.

Talking with Dymed, we wondered what exactly is out there other than iPods and Zens?

Right now I have my eye on a 1 gig mobiBlu (can only be purchased through Wal-Mart, but that's ok). All I need is the ability to hold maybe a hundred songs, use mp3 format, be able to receive radio and maybe have a recorder :P

(no pic, no proof... k?)

I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam.

Philips Jukebox

The greatest mp3 player out there. It looks and works better than any iPod.

Just look at the thing. It's beautiful. No buttons whatsoever, it's all touch sensitive. When it's turned off, it's completely slick and black. When it's on, the blue backlight lighting up the "buttons" adds a really nice touch. And the little bar in the middle owns the scroll wheel in terms of control. Built in radio, voice recorder, and it plays movies.

Philips Jukebox > *

The pictures don't do it justice. You need to go to your local Best Buy or something and actually hold one. It's amazing.

Well, one thing I certainly recommend to avoid are those silly peanut shaped ones you see flocked on eBay. They're terrible. The input breaks, the battery drains in about an hour, the instructions are in Chinese...Gah, the list goes on.

No radio capabilities and that's a must :(

Yay! Someone who thinks like me!

If you're not going for the jukebox type, I'm personally a fan of iRivers.

And dymed, that Philips Jukebox looks really nice. I've been searching for a good one for a while now, and I think I might've found it. :) How's the sound quality of it?

As good as anything iPod or Zen or whatnot. No compromise in sound quality. And the earphones it comes with are top-notch too. :D

My brother has the Creative MuVo TX FM

Has FM, 1 Gig, nice look to. Also the player splits in half, a Lithium battery and a flash drive/MP3 player. Handy if you need to copy files from a computer not at your house... or something like that :/

My mom got the MobiBlue for Christmas. It's pretty sweet. Weighs absolutely nothing and the headphones come as a neck thing so you can just wear the player around. Does have radio capabilities which is very cool.

Heh, I was playing billiards and I pretended to mistake it for the blue cubes of chalk. I'm so funny.

$99.99

iRiver owns as one of the better maker of cheaper MP3s. I own an older iRiver and it works great. I dropped mine a couple of times while running and it still works. My model lasts the whole week for me with 1 AA energizer battery. Might seem bulky but it is worth it.

Creative is the next good choice but it's battery time is a bit too low for my liking.

My model is a 256 MB 700 Series because I pretty much use it to listen to 99.9 Mix FM here in Toronto, but I also wanted some decent features :)

Methinks I need one.

Pay up more Smithie! :) Use up that 240 bucks lol.
