MrChrisRawkz
I want to adopt a more efficant more playstyle. For aslong as I can remember I have always valued Items over skills. but recently. evidence shows this is not a good way to go around it.. So I will ask a few questions and you can give me answers and elaborate on them.. so without futher waiting.. - For Slayer/Overall Killing. Would it be better to have full bandos. or buy extreme potions? - If i were to sell bandos. Would it be logical to spend all my money on Herblore. Or a set amount. - for making money, what herbs would be the best and which farm patchs should i take? - What Slayer gear would be acceptable for my level. what should i try and buy?(My Usual gear is. Full Slayer Helm, Glory, Soul Wars Cape, BCP, Bandos Tassys, D boots, Whip, Dragon Defender, Barrows Gloves, and Fercious Ring) I know these are alot of questions but ever since I have gotten 99 Fishing I am lost on something to do, So I would like to become effiicent at Slayer and hopfully go to 99. Many thanks :) Chris' Runescape Log

Would it be better to have full bandos. or buy extreme potions? both - If i were to sell bandos. Would it be logical to spend all my money on Herblore. Or a set amount. depends on how much money you have - for making money, what herbs would be the best and which farm patchs should i take? i believe torstol is best. you need juju farming potions to profit though. snapdragon also works. you can make a decent profit without needing to get juju potions. all 5 patches. you will need explorers ring, ardy cape(or ardy tele runes) and ectophial to get to all 5 patches quickly. - What Slayer gear would be acceptable for my level. what should i try and buy?(My Usual gear is. Full Slayer Helm, Glory, Soul Wars Cape, BCP, Bandos Tassys, D boots, Whip, Dragon Defender, Barrows Gloves, and Fercious Ring) depending on your cash, you could get a fury in place of glory. ring of wealth over ferocious. maybe get rapier. it is noticeably better than whip. ring of wealth is very good on tasks now since it has been updated. just look at all the pictures of people getting like 1k air orb drops from demons and stuff. I know these are alot of questions but ever since I have gotten 99 Fishing I am lost on something to do, So I would like to become effiicent at Slayer and hopfully go to 99. Bandos should come after those. Quyneax
The base slayer gear is as follows (alternatives in brackets):[For all slayer monsters except those mentioned under other weapons] Chaotic rapier (whip)Bandos body + legs (Verac's skirt with either fighter torso or proselyte top)[Depending on prayer/accuracy needs] Fire cape/Soul Wars cape/Ardougne cloak 3Barrows gloves (your best rfd gloves, at least rune)Dragon boots (rune boots)Amulet of fury (glory)Dragon defender (rune defender)Berserker ring (i)/ferocious ring if slaying in Kuradal's Dungeon (berserker ring, warrior ring)[Most important] Full slayer helmet.[For magic defence on waterfiends/aquanites] Karil's top and elite void skirt (black dragonhide body and chaps)[Crush attacks to use on waterfiends] Chaotic maul (Saradomin sword, Zamorakian spear)[stab attacks for higher-levelled dragons, when not using rapier] Korasi's sword (Zamorakian spear, leaf-bladed sword)Task-specific items such as mirror shields, antifire shields/potions, elemental shields, rock hammers, crystal chimesCannon (optional, up to personal preference)Slayer setups generally emphasise strength bonus, which increases the average damage of each succesful hit (slayer monsters usually having rather low defence, hitting is not a problem). Secondly, prayer bonus is important to keep the cost of prayer potions down (as you slay with piety on, to increase the speed of your kills. This is cost-effective and highly recommended). As a rule of thumb, +15 prayer bonus or above is good, but don't overdo it (anything above +25 is a waste). Defence and accuracy bonus are usually not fretted over (any defence bonus over 200 will do; if you get hit too often you should be using a protection prayer). Dagganoth, black demon, lesser demon, hellhound, bloodveld and spectre tasks should be cannoned, as it dramatically increases xp rates (although it costs a bit). Some notes on gear: You'll want a fury and a berserker ring before you get bandos plate, and get that before tassets. You'll want accuracy bonus on higher-levelled dragons; if using stab attacks (which you should) you can use the Ardougne cloak 3 which provides you with +6 stab and +6 prayer bonus. Torso + sw cape and fire cape + proselyte are common cheap top/cape combinations; the former is better. Some levels to get for slayer (in approximate order but I'm not sure on the summoning):68 summoning - bunyip81 dungeoneering (you need 2 million xp, which takes you to level 80, but allowing some tokens for the scroll of life) - rapier89 herblore (85 with a +4 stew boost) - extreme potions, superantifires95 prayer - turmoil and soul split88 summoning - unicorn96 herblore (91 with a +5 stew boost) - overload99 summoning - steel titanI'm sure I missed something but this is most of it. For you this means: sell your Bandos to get extremes. Purchase a fury, then a Bandos chestplate, then tassets, then sell your Bandos again to afford turmoil. Skill-wise, get a chaotic rapier while farming herbs (you are 3 levels away from snapdragon, either get it up fast (yew trees) or use pies (+3 boost)). Get a scroll of life and juju potions ASAP to fund turmoil. You can get jujus once you get 68 farming (easier pie boost) and you already have the hunter level to boost for them. All_Is_Great
Gl adapting though. Prepare for grinding for money at dragons of all kinds. Prepare to be told to never do GWD, never do Corp, never do anything except frost dragons and TDs. But in all seriousness, Sell bandos for herb, it's a good idea. Farm snaps, or toadflax/avantoes if you're cheap. "Acceptable" equipment? So is that acceptable to yourself or the people watching you slay behind their own computers whom you've never met before... Slayer helm, veracs skirt, ddefender, whip, etc. All the standards pretty much. Oh and you have to train dungeoneering. And if you get anything but a rapier, you will be shunned by this forum. Also, no play style is the right play style, except for your own.
Quyneax
^I detect some bitterness :P. You should just drop it and save your comments when people ask for the 'most fun' boss. In all seriousness, corp is good cash if you can solo it without swh AND if you keep at it for years, but GWD is simply worse money than anything really. @ The rapier comment: not even true. Ruggig
I love the idea of a efficant playstyle, but NEVER ever forget to have FUN.Basicly that everything i have to add because Quyneax more or less covered it all. Helm_Lardar
Sell bandos once you're certain you have the money for herblore, sure. Rumour has it that using Torag's is little different than Bandos. Certain items are well worth having, even though they're not expensive. For example, if you don't have barrows gloves the obvious question is "why not??" sicne they are better than a dragon defender and bandos armour strength bonuses. Or at least pretty close. I'm not an efficienado.

Hegelstad
Verac skirt + Fighter torso is comparable to Bandos, however getting a torso takes time and can be substituted by proselyte harness or bandos. Nifflin
Verac skirt + Fighter torso is comparable to Bandos, however getting a torso takes time and can be substituted by proselyte harness or bandos.No. Torso is not worth the time either, I regret getting one. SirIzenhime
torso is only worth the time if you really like Barbarian assault.Other then fun factor though, the torso is always a waste. Sell your bandos for Herblore/prayer ONLY if you know it will get you enough more for extreme atk and str (or turmoil for prayer) Use all 5 herb patches if you can.Last I heard, ranarr and toadflax are the best to farm for money IF you don't have a scroll of life (which you should though), snapdragon if you do. And Torstol (still? idk) if you have Juju potions Quyneax covered the gear/levels.
