LitterBug
Hey guys, I was thinking about training my herblore up some more and I had a few questions. My plan right now is to a.) Make 5k Antifiresb.) Make the 5k Antifires into Super Antifires I was wondering if this was a viable idea. For the Pheonix Feathers - I will be 1.) Use Fairy Ring (DLQ) then run north - I will be teleporting to easy access to a ring via the slayer ring2.) Bank via edgeville teleports - I have about 25 glories ^I will try to use a war tortoise for extra storage space and will wear desert robes + enchanted water tiara instead of bringing waterskins I was wondering if anybody could either find a better way to collect these feathers or could give me an approximate number of feathers I could collect in this time frame. Also is 5k Antifire/Super Antifires going overboard? a7x_fan_4eva
I am not quite sure on method of collection but seems a good plan to me. You cannot however give feathers to a beast of burden, so no b.o.b works. 5k may be slightly too many, i'm not sure i've made 2k and i have around 1.2k left still after around 4/5 months of using them, although I only use for dragon slayer tasks. Looking on youtube i've seen a method which claims around 950 feathers at 99 thieve using a larupia and completed eagles peak, have a look. Sy_Accursed
Thats the slow method. Fast method:Spirit Larupia teleport to feldip hunter area, run slightly west into jungle eagle cave.Fly eagles to desert, exit cave to come out right on top of the phoenix. Then glories, duel rings, kinship w/e to a bank. How long did it take you - what was your method? EDIT:Thanks for the video - it was quite informative. You said that 5k may be too many - how many do you consider is a fair number? Do people ever end up using these anti-fire potions? Edited March 20, 2011 by LitterBug
a7x_fan_4eva
Tbh I just walked from shanty pass collected then banked at shanty - entirely inefficeint and took ages so wouldn't recommend it Edited March 20, 2011 by a7x_fan_4eva 14 Skills at 99 All Skills 85+ 2370+ Total 3058 Glacor Kills 326 Shards of Armadyl 1 Ragefire 1 Glaiven 2 Steadfast 33 Effigys 17 Abyssal Whips 5 Staff of Light 5 Dark Bows 40 Dragon Boots 16 Polypore Sticks62 Barrow Items 6 Pharah Sceptres 117 Effigys
Serpent Eye
For this last Bonus XP Weekend, I collected around 1,300 Phoenix feathers for the Super antifire potions I was making. I used the "Spirit larupia/Eagle transportation/Dueling ring" method and got all my feathers in under 2 hours. Edited March 20, 2011 by SerpentEye
DarkDude
I used the broom to teleport away and banked at Shantay when I did it, didn't seem too much slower than the eagle method and has the benefits of not needing a familiar or rings/glories etc. Probably not the absolute best method but I found it was a lot less messing around with regards to having to get a rope, use it on eagles etc.
Quyneax
5k superantifires > 15k doses @ 6 minutes each > 1.5k hours of antifire protection > up to 300k frost dragons, 200k iron/steel/black dragons (approx), 100k mithril dragons. That's enough to get several visages & dragon full helmets. I'd say 1k is plenty. purekilljoy
Unless you're specifically planning to hunt dragons there'll be no need to get over 2k. Even 1k will last you for ages
Troll Bomber
I used chipped polly tabs and ran to the phoenix then cwars telly to bank. Not the fastest method probably, but oh well. I made over 2k pots 2 months ago, and have MAYBE used 20% of them but I doubt it. I do a lot of slayer though too, so for an average player, 5k pots will last forever. AxiSyn
What I did to get 1.5kiish feathers was: Duel ring to Al Kharid, bank @ shanty, bribe guard, carpet to uzer, run north and thieve away till full, rinse repeat. I used enchanted tiara and desert robes. 5k potions might be going a bit overboard, you'e got 84 Herblore, so you could be stewing to 89 and using the logout/in trick to make ext strength and attacks.
