thanks for the tip, was quite good quality.

I'd have actually paid to watch the third season. Not a huge amount, but something. Pity no such option exists for me (to the best of my knowledge)

I just watch stuff on netflix or that. no reason to really pay for anything besides the netflix monthly.

this weeks GOT episode was a tad uneventful, honestly.

Most intriguing thing is what will happen to Arya with the Hound and all?

Okay, I'm up to date. There are way too many freaking plotlines in this show.

But it will be glorious when they all converge.

But it will be glorious when they all converge.

Except not really, since they all sort of converge at the end of the book (or series) artificially. It's not like his books are "nothing happens for a whole book", when with this sort of would you feel like it should be. I know that the series of massive, my Game of Thrones book is around 700 words with massive text while my LOTR is 1200 words with tiny text - but I just feel that since everything happens so close together you don't get a sense that the writing meshes well with the story. The red wedding was great, but in the show it will feel so artificial with something big happening at the end of the show/book.

I know obviously the biggest things happen towards the end, it's just that I don't feel it works. Hopefully somebody agrees at least, it certainly isn't a pet peeve many people have.

I was planning on buying the first two seasons on Blu-Ray this past fall, but that was until I saw how much they cost.

Episode 8... But mainly fashion spoilers

Bit disappointed in the wedding, in the books I liked the idea of the Maiden cloak and swapping the cloaks but she just wore a boring dress with no awesome Direwolf cloak which in my head looks exactly like a grey and white 99 cape from Runescape :D Looking forward to next week...

I loved the wedding. I mean the cloak bit was there just simplified. Joffrey was such a dick taking Tyrion's stool. I've heard some people complain about Sansa kneeling, but really, I don't think refusing would have come across as sypathetic in the show considering how much everyone loves Tyrion.

The show is just so much better when it has focused storylines like this. Jaime and Brienne, Robb and Catelyn et al, Theon, and Jon and Ygritte were all absent. Much better TV that way. King's Landing can take the next episode off as far as I'm concerned, considering what's going to happen. Minus some cross cutting with Tywin or something because what a dick, amirite?

I feel bad for Tyrion. He's the nicest of the bunch and yet she still treats him like shit...

in spite of all the awful shit that's happened to her, she's still in some ways a spoiled child. going from the wonderful swordswallower extraordinaire to cut imp gross imp lannister would suck, regardless of how nice he acts. joffrey acted nice too, at first

I could do without all the nudity to be honest. It's pretty tacky imo and the main thing I don't like about the series.

Doesn't mean they need to carry it over, particurly when it adds nothing to the plot.

For example, you definitely needed cersei/jamie's scene at winterfell in season one, but that was (reasonably) tastefully done.

Contrast that to "Pod at the brothel" which added absolutely nothing to the plot...whatsoever.

I'm a fan of the fact that Game of Thrones really is an 'all in one' series, whereby you get your fix of drama, comedy, horror and porn - sometimes all at the same time.

qTLQRuS.png

I don't know, not a big fan of it either. Nothing against sex scenes in general, but they shouldn't be done only to be able to show T&A, especially since most of the time it means that it will feel shoehorned in...Just take the last episode, where

Mel says that fear will ruin the blood for the sacrifice, to provide some excuse for a sex scene...yet in that same scene she chains Gendry to a bed and drops leeches on his junk, which quite clearly scares him so...fail?

and obviously the best example would be Pod and his magical sexual prowess...I can't stop rolling my eyes at that one. There's a thread for discussion of completely unspoiled viewers over at a site called television without pity, which I sometimes read to see what they're guessing at etc...They spent pages talking about this stupid plotline, wondering if Pod is a magician etc...There's sex scenes, and then there's stuff like this, and unfortunately most sex scenes in GOT were rather disappointing in that regard tbh.

sorry dude but that bit was hilarious
