I know dual accounts are not meant to interact with each other. However would it be against the rules for a main account to assist/open effigies for the side/alt account?

Yes but jagex won't be able to tell.

Also, if you main only assists them, you have to wait to do all the assisting, and you also lose out on the dragonkin lamp for your main, unless this was the point.

You may create more than one account, but if you do, you may not log in more than one account at any time, and they must not interact with each other in any way.

The rule is pretty clear that you not only can't interact between your multiple accounts, but are not allowed to log in on both accounts at the same time, thus assisting your other account is against the rules twice for the same rule.

It was just while training a pure, I came across 11 effigies. I wasn't clear if there was an issue with assisting to open them as it's no different to getting someone else to open them.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Jagex has no way to prove that the account isn't your siblings account or someone elses account who you live with. This along with the fact that they basically can't detect anything...

 

It is against the rules, but nothing will ever come of it.
