Does Strength REALLY help your woodcutting?

For those of you who are curious, confused, or a believer in the common myth that a higher strength level will help you get a higher log rate when woodcutting, this is not true. A higher strength level will NOT help you in the skill of woodcutting.

Dear Foodfight13,

Thank you for contacting Jagex.

There are three factors which decide how quickly you cut logs from a tree. These are the tree you're cutting, the axe you're using and your woodcutting level.

High strength does help you hit harder when fighting so it is also a very good thing to have ;)

Keep on scaping!

Yours Sincerely

Mod Mat K

Pure wcers would be useless.....

Pure WCers make money from mage and yew logs.

Whats got to do with the conversation? He's saying if str affected wc ability the pure wcers with only wc skill would be useless. But it is not, so they can chop trees just as well as anyone else.

Yeah... I don't think anyone has thought, for longer than a second, that Strength affected your Woodcutting abilities... Common sense, if one were dependent on the other, would there be two different skills?

actually, it would be nice if your strength level affected your wc skill, your mining, and your agility (well how weight affected your energy). in some other rpgs your strength affects the max weight you can carry. realistically, these things would be affected as your strength increased (as well as when your strength decreased, like ahrim's special, etc)

not really if you think about it, because anyone with money can buy ores to smith or logs to burn...

Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Did you stop to question this? Even for a nano-second? If you did...*Enter another blasphemous comment here*.

dude, strength in general is how strong you are. the stronger you are, the harder you can hit with a weapon or tool. it doesnt work that way in runescape, but its not as ridiculous as you make it sound

did you know your def level affects damage you get from mage, range and melee attacks?

in many other games you have strength, dexterity and intelligence, which affect all your types of attack and defence styles. why wouldnt a stronger person be able to lift more?

Yes but this is not strength in general. This is strength as a skill. Is it that hard to comprehend?
