So yeah I guess this is worth quitting over >.>. I go away for a week and they break the game.

 

I forgot I had credit card info still saved there. I am thinking of blowing my cash pile and just kill things until members runs out. After that, I'll probably just indulge in my drawing and writing hobbies until I unearth a decent MMORPG I can get into. I wish I could get out of the "victory is boring" feel that has been following me since 2010. :mellow:

Heh I cancelled my subscription, if I feel like it I'll buy separate months of membership but Jagex doesn't deserve a reliable customer. Probably ends up cheaper this way.

Well I'm not quitting Tif, and not quitting H&A for sure :). But RS has been annoying me since the effigy nerf so it's time to take a break and see how that goes.

 

Also did some Zamorak GWD with Latin tanking (e.g. full torva + divine), using SoA. Was getting a bit more kills but that might have been due to my titan (probably was). It really hits well on K'ril, and K'ril hits pretty badly on gano + arcane + fsh + virtus skirt.

Went to Graardor after you left. Got one kill in before a crasher entered the room. After 5 minutes, a second crasher joined in and after a while a third crasher joined in on the fun as well. Lol. I just left - Graardor is pretty bad gp/hr anyway, especially with all the crashers nowadays. He was ridiculously easy to kill with torva, divine, claws and dreadnips.

As for arcanists, I'd imagine a few people still enjoy the game and play. But I'd expect that site to be mostly dead since, last I checked, it hasn't been updated in over a year.

I knew it, but you said I was getting kills!

 

Well to be fair, I didn't get the kills I tanked on for sure, used 4 brews on one kill. But when I started using titan properly and not tanking it worked out, more or less. Still very low accuracy though, not worth the cost. The minions were fairly fast.

 

@Arcanists: Not going to bother with that. I might play some Warband (good multiplayer mounted combat, no fantasy elements at all) and random mmorpg trials.

How Jagex ruins the game.

 

I really think Jagex should have moved away from weekly updates and into the big patches à la WoW. That way they'd be able to integrate a long-term vision into each update. Pretty much every single update lately was an add-on that never really hit any core aspect of the game. Things like Artisan's, Livid Farm, Herblore Habitat, the Pit, Polypore Dungeon... all random pieces of the game. Undo the release of any of them and you lose very little overall. Even dungeoneering is kind of a loose end, it could exist on its own even, nothing lost.

 

How long since we got a new patch of actual world map? I think it's Branches of Darkmeyer, adding a piece of empty forest (a rarity nowadays) and a new city with no real facilities. No worthwhile locations have been added, just new uses of existing map parts, dungeons, instance shard worlds, demiplanes, instanced dungeons etc.

So I just compared range to mage against Kree'arra. I get 26 kills p/h with polypore and 22 with CCB + bakriminel bolts. Surprising outcome.

 

I wore Nex gear for both set ups, but I switched the virtus top for a ganodermic top when I tried mage.

Yes, yes and yes. Leeches make mage about as accurate as range on Kree'arra. The difference between Augury and Leech Magic/Defence is very big.

I kind of miss the dizzying expansion of Morytania, which I think was sometime in Mid 04? We got a whole bunch of stuff in a span of mere months - Canifis, the Haunted Woods, Port Phasmatys, Mort Myre, Mort'ton ...

 

Shame that Jagex seems intent on building up or down (sick to death of more and more generic dungeons) instead of actually expanding into a new area. My last hope is really the Eastern Lands now :(

It's worth noting that Kre may have a range-based mage attack, or some sort of leach ability that boosts the accuracy of his mage attack when your using mage. A rather small sample size (~500 hits) but we found that his mage attack was significantly less accurate on torag's (salamander-ing) then on gano (PPSing). Was going to do more testing (high mage def ranging etc.) but never got around to it. The mage mino almost never hits you in gano though.

I think you're right, Aiel. I just had a look at my recorded kills with mage and range and I was constantly getting hit by his mage attacks in ganodermic armor, but not so often in pernix armor. Interesting.

That's weird, the difference in ranged def between gano and Pernix isn't exactly what you call stellar afaik. Did anyone try maging with ranged def equal to a pernix setup?
