Wot
Hey everyone,Recently, I randomly decided to play runescape for the first time in about 2 years, but unsurprisingly the F2P limits annoyed my P2P adjusted mind.So I figure sometime next week I might go ahead and buy a member ship card, and see if I can get my old love for this game back. The thing is, It's completely different now to the game I remember xD. The grand exchange looks completely different, I'm suddenly hitting close to the 100's in attacks, everyone is wearing snazzy clan capes (although I'll never unequip my mining cape) and there are about 3 new skills that werent there when I left off. To give you a sort of time frame, after leaving runescape I sort of came back for tiny half hour bursts every few weeks to months. The last thing I remember doing, is buying a dragon pickaxe right when they first came out, seeing the average price drop, selling it, then getting pretty damn pissed when the price escalated by millions (Or was that just my imagination?) It's a massive ask, but I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me an ultra quick round up of some of the bigger updates since then, what should I look into to try and get myself reintressted? My stats are far from the best, but I'll be working on them. Especially fletching, I'll probably end up power leveling so I can give my mining cape a nice trim. On a final note, I noticed a lot of people asking for ludicrous amounts of cash from me. It's not the begging that caught my eye, it's the fact they all seemed convinced that I would be able to give them large sums of money. I asked one about it and he told me Jagex got rid of the trade limit, is that true? So thanks for reading this, everyone. Apologies in advanced if it is in the wrong forum, obviously It's not only runescape I need to get readjusted to,Toby(PS, some of the older members here might remember me as the annoying kid who posted a thread everytime he leveled up in mining, hey to all and i've grown up a lot since then xD) 2,274th person to 99 mining
essiw
Summoning came out just after the grand exchange if I recall correctly. So I am not sure how you can see 3 new skills when most likely it is only one new skill or maybe 2. http://sign.tip.it/1/2/79/260/essiw.png Retired item crew I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum. Wot
It's dungeoneering which is the new one to me.And although summoning was out before I left, I never payed much attention to it, and doubt I ever will, sorry for my figures, I just pulled it out of the air xD. 2,274th person to 99 mining

Not going to lie, the F2P grandexhange was littered with just that. It's a shame to hear it had spread to P2P too, but I guess that's to be expected. Can you shed any light on the trade cap removal? 2,274th person to 99 mining

It's not the same at all on P2P worlds. They are free from ad bots, for the most part. Bots are still here, yes. But the GE is spam-free. Everything is, as-it-was, in 2007. I.e Wilderness has returned as has Free Trade. Bounty Hunter and the like are gone. I'm not giving you a run-down of updates, they are already available at your finger-tips: http://services.runescape.com/m=news/list.ws RIP Michaelangelopolous

Will H
My advice is: Rotate 180º and run away.If it really was as bad as you're saying, neither you or the rest of us would be here. The rest of us enjoy this game. My advice to Crossed_Body: Don't be unhelpful when people ask for it. *ahem* Sorry about that. Big things are Dungeoneering, official Clans and recently the Citadels, return of Free Trade and the Wilderness after a referendum, veteran (5 year), max and completionist capes, the Void Knight quests, Runefest, the Jagex Cup, Bonus XP weekends, Slayer master Kuradal, Nex (level 1001!), and Nomad's Requiem. There's lots more, but those are the main big updates I can think of. Oh, and all hitpoints and damage were all multiplied by ten, so you didn't have the awkward situation of newbies being blasted with glancing blows from weak monsters, and you can get really rare and expensive armour that boosts your max hitpoints (Torva, Virtus and Pernix). You get used to it eventually. ~ W ~
Wot
Aha, thanks to everyone, but especially Will H and Newb. I'm pretty damn pleased about the wilderness/trade cap limit, so on friday I'll buy a 3 month membership card and see where that takes me. 2,274th person to 99 mining
Platinum_Myr
Aha, thanks to everyone, but especially Will H and Newb. I'm pretty damn pleased about the wilderness/trade cap limit, so on friday I'll buy a 3 month membership card and see where that takes me. Yeah the game is decent for members still. There are bots, but I don't notice them directly in game (indirect effects for sure though). I would suggest dungeoneering, as this is a fairly fun and group oriented skill. Getting it to ~80 will let you get a chaotic. Other high level powerful combat updates include the Extreme and Overload potions, and Turmoil+SoulSplit (Curses). I would suggest trying things out, and see what you enjoy. There is a lot to do, and it can be difficult to remember all that has changed. Also.. giant trees. :) Maxed since Sunday, January 9th, 2014Completionist since Wednesday, June 4th, 2014
Troacctid
When in doubt, do quests. If that fails, raise your levels until you can do more quests. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
