Opening effigies myself - level boosting

Powerfrog

Recommended Posts

I've heard talk of clan citadel boosting much more than other methods and am very interested in using and abusing this to open my effigies.

I'm just going to put out the current levels i plan on getting and boosts i plan on using. Correct me where i'm wrong, and suggest another skill entirely if you think it would be easier.

70/92 crafting (Pain in the butt to find assist, will do first... +5 from spicy stews, will slowly level from effigies and use +3 crafting pots when 94)

68/92 thieving (+5 from spicy stews, +3 from summer s'quirk juice at 94)

80/92 cooking (+5 boost from chefs delight)

72/92 fishing (+5 admirals pie)

70/92 fletching (+5 spicy stew, +3 from fletch pot when 94)

54/93 herblore (+ 5 spicy stew Not easiest of the 2, but i'm getting it anyway for pvm reasons, will slowly get 96 from this which is handy for no stew ovls :))

72/92 smithing (Pain in the butt to train, easy to find assist... This will come last, if i ever do it :P.)

70/99 summoning... This is whole reason i'm using effigies. I'll be saving all of these for when i have the actual levels to use them, soon as i'm 91 summ i'm going to level so fast.

Note that i will be using a spicy stew at 86 to open a 91 effigy, and a crafting pot at 90 to open a 93 effigy and other examples of common sense like that for the easy xp and getting 1 step closer, so don't bother mentioning that.

Agility/crafting effigies: More efficient to do agility, you only need 87 agility for a guaranteed boost to 97. Crafting can be assisted for 30k free xp per day.

Thieving/construction effigies: Roughly equally efficient depending on income, can boost by 3 with tea. Thieving has a +4 boost with the abyssal lurker scroll. Construction can be assisted.

Fm/cook: Mature chef's delight boosts by 6.

Fish: Farming has +4 stranger plant but fishing is more efficient.

Wc/fletch: Woodcut is more efficient, but only has a +2 boost (mature axeman's folly).

Hunt/herb: Hunter has a guaranteed +8 or +9 with the Ooglog pool.

Mine/smith: Mining is more efficient, both have the same guaranteed +2 (mature dwarven stout).

Summ/rc: Rc is more efficient. Summ has a +10 boost like agility. Don't dump your lamps until the highest level you can w/o wasting effigies (if you have 40 dragonkin lamps, dump at level 97).

Wc/fletch: Woodcut is more efficient, but only has a +2 boost (mature axeman's folly).

Luckily, still has those stews which would make them fairly easy to open at 92+. If getting 93, one would only need stews (+4) for 97 effigies.

Same with mining.

99+ all 23rd March 2012 - 2496 total 13th June 2012.

9000+ dragon drops! Including draconic visage, d chains, d spears, d2h, d claws, d meds, d legs, d skirts... d bones, d hides :)?

I want jagex to put resource dungeons and dungeoneering skill doors to dungeoneering floors so I can dungeon and get dungeoneering xp while I dg so I don't have to dg to get dg exp, but I can dg while I dg :)?

Crafting is far easier to train than agility, yet 87 vs 92 is about 2.5m xp difference, and agility is much more useful in general. I'll seriously consider this.

Thieving. I'm far too poor for construction. (Besides, theiving is very fast itself.)

Cooking, yes you're right, thanks.

Fishing. I dispise farming. (I know it's good money, but no. Just no.)

I always thought fletching was faster xp.

Herblore. I'm getting it soon anyway so i can just ignore hunter, of course if i didn't want herblore i'd get hunter though.

I always thought smithing was faster xp. I may do mining though as i'm not prepared to pay huge amounts for faster xp.

Summoning... HOLY!! You can boost summoning by 10?! That's amazing... I can use my charms to get 81 immediatley and start opening 91 effigies for massive boost in xp.

I plan on getting 100's of effigies so i really can't decide an exact level to start using dragonkin lamps. I'm thinking maybe at 86-87 so i can get a unicorn asap, and then gp back to effigy collecting (most of my methods get decent charm rates) and using those charms. With this +10 summoning boost though i could possibly be leveling it a lot more than i thought with effigy opening though.

Care to explain how exactly these boosts are activated, how much effort it is to do or unlock the ability to do, and how reliable it is for effigy opening. (I've never done clan citadel in my life.) ((and is it only agility and summoning that can be boosted?))

You start a battle on a battlefield which has two specific tiles in it, one boosts summoning the other boosts agility. Stand on top of the tile to recieve the boost.

So how does one find a clan citadel with said boost on it if ones own clan's citadel does not have the boost thinger >_>

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.
[spoiler=The rest of my sig. You know you wanna see it.]

my difinition of noob is i dont like u, either u are better then me or u are worst them me

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

One changes clan or motivates his/her clan to have one.

Sometimes you will need the lamps though to get to the level to start opening effigies with the skill. For instance, I used some effigies to get 80-89 something rc (together with pengs and elite diaries) and then I could start boosting for effgies and assists. If I wouldn't have done that, I'd have stayed low rc forever. Even at 91 rc, I used some lamps on them so I could get 93 faster, which makes getting assists so much easier. If I had to wait until I had enough xp from just opening effigies, I would have had a much harder time getting assists for a while.

Also, bank space can be an issue. If were speaking about multiple levels by just opening effigies, you'd need space for hundreds of them (11k per effigie on average), which most people don't have.

That being said, in an ideal case, it's best to do what you did yeah.

Yeah i have some common sense around me and will be capable of making decisions like that :P

Bank space isn't really an issue, i recently cleared out some rubbish and have well over 100 spaces and it's still full of other junk i could get rid of.

Fletching and smithing are faster than woodcutting and mining. That's what Quy meant by it being more efficient to use mining/wcing to open them.

Ahh right... I don't really care about leveling useless skills beyond quest requirments, so i'll go for fast and easy all the way.

Can someone spill the beans a bit? I have no clue what you're referring to. Which skills can you boost +10?

Apparently, Agility and Summoning. Assuming you're in a clan that has certain things on the battlefield.

If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.

Finally a tangible benefit of being in a clan.

Might be time to start looking for one :o
