Take your failed trolling back to /b/ where you belong.

Ad Hominem

You call me a troll, then go on to cite Wikipedia? Well played son, well played. If you were at least half serious, you would've instead cited the DSM-IV. The FBI definition regards 13 or under, and yet, you are still calling him a pedophile. I'm curious as to where:-
a) You've found details pertaining to the age of the 'victims' in question (I dont like the word victim, but we'll roll with it)
b) Linked distribution with sexual interest in children.
c) Found information which proves he was diagnosed a pedophile (as is the standard) by a psychiatrist

Technically being labeled a pedophile is a psychiatric diagnosis that can be made
only by qualified psychologists or psychiatrists. For many, therefore, the word is a diagnostic term, not a legal one.

And as a matter of semantics, 13 year olds are actually considered to be adolescents, not children. So the wiki article is slightly off-base.

Adolescence is considered to be the period between ages 13 and 19. The adolescent experiences not only physical growth and change, but also emotional, psychological, social, and mental change and growth.

The owner got slandered but they are free of Jagex's influence on their site.

Yeah, they totally slandered him with their facts, objective government records, logic, openess, and local newspaper stories...
I'm like a hot mess, but without the alcohol.

Hiker is still labelled sex offender for that?!?
I know people whom did far worse things (but i'm not going into detail about that) and they're not even labelled sex offender. (Don't get me wrong you single minded freaks! :P i'm not approving any of it)

One could say once a thief always a thief but is one a thief if he stole once? Is one a sailor if he sailed once? Is one a pilot if he flew once? You guys and gals believe what you want, but in my eyes this whole deal is blown way out of proportions!

I won't deny the fact that for instance a thief who stole once and got caught yet doesn't realises it's in his own advantage, who will never steal again because he learned his lesson sooner than later still has the urge to steal, the fact that he no longer commits the act is what makes him stronger.
But then again a person like that could not be trusted, that is true but it's not necessary to trust that person.
It's like a dog which out of nowhere severly attacked someone, in our sociaty we would put the dog down while we could just muzzle it and try to make the dog see that it made a mistake, hell it's only a dog!
Hell we're only people we all make mistakes and you wouldn't wish for yourself that you had to pay for it the rest of your life if you did something (very) stupid, so you can't go out and be the hypocrite wishing this one someone else. (I'm looking at the people behind Jagex)

All i can say is that i'm not proud of Jagex and even less proud of Hiker, damn you :(
It's all a shame though :(

Ah well Svs signing off.

Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections.~unknown~

I think there is a lot of overprotection when it comes to child sex abuse, yes. The chances of him relapsing due to his work on RuneVillage, and its status as a gold status fansite weren't significantly high. However, before you criticise Jagex for making the same decision as any other company would in their position, I would challenge you to have an argument with the supporters of Megan's Law and remind them of the fact (I repeat, FACT) that that law has had no demonstrable effect on preventing child sex abuse, or even the type of abuse committed.

I guarentee you won't get much logic in the inevitable debate, but what you would get is a lot of accusations that you're "cozying up" to paedophiles.

Now you understand Jagex's point of view here.

Necrobump aside, please, for the love of god, tell me you didn't just compare sex offences to theft Svs.

I have an irl friend who is a sex offender because he was 18 with a 16 year old girlfriend and her parents hated him. With that in mind I think that this is [cabbage], unless this person is a real predator.

I'm glad the age of consent is 16 in Canada.

Me too - until recently it was 14 (at least in Ontario).

THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

Please tell me, if someone steals something, what are they? If someone's sailed for the first time, what are they? And what someones is if they've piloted a plane for the first time. Trainee thief? Trainee Sailor? Trainee pilot?

Necrobump aside, please, for the love of god, tell me you didn't just compare sex offences to theft Svs.

Apparently they're similar!
