If you have 20m+ cash on hand then yes it can be depending on the market.

 

The problem with torstols and frankly all high level herbs now is that the bxpw and merchanting-made-EZ "save herbs then sell on bxpw" everyone has been following has caused the prices to rollercoster and become unstable.

 

Try to buy the seeds and sell the herbs every few days to minimize market rollercoster losses.

The seed itself is about 220k-300k. You will only make a profit if your yield is >8, since they only go for like, 30-40k max. How lucky are you feeling these days?

From my last run, seed bought at 235k and herbs sold at 31k or a little below. The average with juju and deaths is around 9 herbs per patch, + scroll of life. So you're looking at around 35k per patch + a third of a seed per run (conservative estimate) for about 250k profit per run.

 

On the other hand, adding My Arm's patch + less conservative SoL estimates you get 350-400k per run.

^ I thought the average per patch with Jujus is close to 8.4?

 

Out of all my herb runs (without remote), I get an average of a little more then 44 (per 5 herb patches)

Torstols are good with remote farming + trollheim patch + juju's.

Otherwise, even one or two bad patches will ruin your profits.

 

Think about it this way, if each seed is about 8 torstols - (assuming each patch has an average of 9 herbs - which is slightly on the high side), you're going to lose 30k if one herb patch dies

While the one at trollheim never actually dies, it's possible to get 4(?) herbs because it can get diseased My Arm will cure it but it won't have as high as a yield.

You should be ALWAYS be supercomposting EVERY patch. I have never heard of a 4 herb yield patch using super composts.

it's possible to get 4(?) herbs because it can get diseased My Arm will cure it but it won't have as high as a yield.

You should be ALWAYS be supercomposting EVERY patch. I have never heard of a 4 herb yield patch using super composts.

 

Heck I rarely get 5 herb patches nowadays

even if you super compost the troll heim patch, it can "be diseased"

the effect is basically you have a patch that was never composted i.e. you can get 3 herbs from a My Arms patch even with super compost.

I've never had less than 5 herbs from any supercomposted patch, including Trollheim. Disease does not affect harvest only growth time.

 

The average herbs/patch before juju was 6.6-6.7 depending who you asked, so about 9 with juju, maybe a little less. Trollheim would average about 7.4-7.5 pre-juju, so about 10 after. Total of around 46 herbs per run plus around half a seed.

I have 70-85 farming logged, and in that time I gained 7 (exactly 7.186..) "picks" per living patch. - so 9.3-9.5 with juju. And accounting for deaths: 8.5-8.6. So a total run should have on average 44 herbs.

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

 

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

 

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Less than 5 herbs from Trollheim using super compost has never happened to me either? I'm sure disease doesn't effect the amount you can pick.

I always use a magic secateur as well as super compost.

Disease does not affect yield, and it never has. It affects growth time because plants won't develop to the next stage during a tick where they're diseased. However, a fully grown herb doesn't "remember" whether it was diseased at an earlier stage--crops have no memory of previous growth stages. That's why dead herbs give you back a random seed: the game uses the same model for all dead herbs, and it doesn't remember what kind of seed you originally planted. If you are only getting 4 herbs from one seed, you are doing something wrong.

Anyone think that torsts are ever going to reach 40k+ again? I've got around 500 herbs stored up and was planning on selling right around BXP, but I was busy for that week and didn't get a chance to unload. Now they seem to be diving pretty hard and I'll lose 5-10 M if I sell now. I want to stick to my guns and just hope they rise again, but if someone thinks that torstols are going to be permanently sub 35k then I might as well cut my losses.

I've gotten 3/4 herbs from it before which shouldnt be possible with super compost.
