October 7, 201114 yr Has anyone other than me actually tried this? I really enjoyed it when I did it.I did it at around 80-85 ranged, and on slayer assignments. I found it to be a nice break from traditional safespot ranging and meleeing. If you have tried it what were your experiences? If you haven't tried it, I strongly urge you to, unless your ranged level is already 99! Sup kids?

However yea I seemed to kill them off faster when the RNG was on my side. Sup kids?
October 7, 201114 yr No need to tank really, just range when necessary and witch out to guthan's when you drop below 30% if your hp. I did this from 70-80 slayer and went from 80 range to 95 (That included some chinning as well). Once you have a rapier though, everything else becomes so obsolete... It's got such a crazy DPS.

It's got such a crazy DPS.Guthans defeats the purpose of using a high-damage weapon... it's incredibly slow and useless. I never liked ranging for the simple fact that you can't be on curses, and before that, it deals so little damage compared to equal melee levels. October 7, 201114 yr Oh right, the "tanking" side of it.Honestly, you should be able to survive almost every task that you range with nothing more than a bunyip. Main Account - Max cape achieved 10th September 2011 Noob Account - 2300 total and climbing

October 7, 201114 yr dragon darts can rape pretty hard with a fero ring +40 damage bonus, pretty decent and cheap range XP if you don't plan on getting 99 range through cannon. definitely the most efficient way to traditional range slay noobs crowding hill giants? not on my watch

Yeah I guess with such low melee stats you would pretty much be resigned to ranging only. 99 farm easy
October 8, 201114 yr *points down to own stats* (and yes, I know its slightly melle based) Wearing void range and an arma plate there is pretty much no slayer task where you need to safespot. Overload and rigour makes my defense high enough that EEE and pray pots is more than enough healing and protection; however, dragons are the only task I still range (using dragonbane bolts). Slayer helm, ovl, rapier, and turmoil is far faster on every other task, even at my stats. You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.
October 10, 201114 yr If you've done Branches of Darkmeyer and are too stingy for normal throwing weapons, blisterwood stakes make a really good substitute and are readily available in large quantities. Granted, you have to throw them at basically point blank range, which is where the tanking part comes in.
