Sinkhan
I'm curious as to what items/NPCs have now become obsolete due to the addition of the tool belt. I have so far: Barb-tail HarpoonDAATackle Box (I suppose you could argue that it still saves the spaces for gloves, multiple baits, and the oily fishing rod)Cast nets Largely OutdatedQuest KitTool Leperchuan I don't really count the items that go on the toolbox since you are still technically using them, but the items above don't seem to have any use now. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
Alg
There are the cast nets as well. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
Troacctid
Quest kit makes ropes, spades, bowls, buckets, thread, light sources, planks, and waterskins, so it's technically not quite obsolete. And golden hammer is still a vanity item what with the emotes and whatnot. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP

Sy_Accursed
In some ways the tool belt is obsolete to some. It doesn't hold a magic watering can or a crystal saw. That's not really obsolete.Obsolete means something rendered useless by NEWER things.Eg VHS is obsolete due to DVDToolbelt lacking slots for these is just a lack of function. Magic can would be nice if we got a slot for it unlocked via fairy tale part 3 since normal can can't go on for obvious reasons. Also crystal saw don't need to go on, for one thing it degrades and acts as chimes making it impossible to vanish into the belt; plus the +3 level boost it provides to construction isn't ALWAYS needed. Most people would be using it as a 1 off to build something a few levels above or on a quest task they r just short of; so aside from specialised uses normal saw does the job fine. Sinkhan
@alg Added thanks @Troacctid That is a good point, though I still feel like the cost and time to gain the kit justifies an update of sorts. I suppose Golden hammer is really just a cosmetic thing and the wieldable hammer nature was really just a small perk. @Promise Watering cans can't be put on the belt anyway since I think it would be awkward to try it fill up a regular one. The crystal saw is a bit of a different beast altogether since I don't think it's overly practical to train construction with it (ofc I don't actually know how long it takes to charge, so I could be entirely wrong) and it's mainly for the boost to make certain things like altars and the like. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug

It has 28 charges, so yeah epically impractical; thou on searching it it does have the boon of cutting faster (no charges used) in tht sawmill game. But meh that's not exactly practical training and hardly a chore to take ur saw since u need to take a good hatchet anyway. Drazhor
They could update some of the items that were made obsolete through the toolbelt, for example they could inprove the catch-rate if you use a cast net?Maybe upgrade the quest-kit somehow? Not sure on what they could do though... Visit my blog! Click the madness for more madness!
Sinkhan
DAA is also useful for making Lapis Lazuli Brooch, again, not entirely redundant. I suppose yes that's true, but the brooch itself is pretty much cosmetic. I would consider it a minor and point and the DAA is still largely useless (in fact I got a little annoyed whenever I got a brooch during temple runs lol) Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
Grimy_Bunyip
tool leprechaun?I think they should let the magic water can and magic secateurs have their own slots too. They have other quest-y items in there already, like the flail mold. Why not a few others :P. Sinkhan
They did mention in the update FAQ they're considering adding the magic watering can. Tool leperchuan is still useful for anyone not on lunars for magic as well as for storing magic secateurs (although I suppose you could just carry everything in bank), but yes they have lost a great deal of purpose. The one at HH also holds vines. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug

Can you even go back into the tanglefoot area after the quest? If you can't, then simply having the slot only unlocking once you've completed the quest would solve that problem. ~ W ~

Just checked, you're right about being able to go in after the quest, but they're not slayer monsters and don't drop anything other than leaves. There's really no reason to go in after the quest. I don't really see the point in carrying it around in item form for such a silly purpose. ~ W ~
Sorator
Just to note, currently you still need a knife in inventory, not on the belt, to skin swamp snakes in Temple Trekking. Also, the rod mold, for making an Ivandis Rod, doesn't have a place on the belt (which is weird, cause the sickle and chain molds do go on there...). Obtained quest cape and base 92 before obtaining any 99s! Currently finishing out my 99s with the (long-distant) goal of comp cape.

The rod mould crumbles away after use if memory serves so you have to re-make it each time. Swamp snakes is obviously one of the few odds and ends that got overlooked, tbf you gotta give kudos for jagex there are very few overlooked items with these updates!
