THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

Hedgehog, before I post my image (don't have what I need for doing it properly yet) for insertion onto the Great Tip Pic, I have a few heavy questions for you...

  1. Why do you want people to not provide images with AntiAliasing (AA) enabled?
(In my own case, I literally can't turn off AA safely because of Jagex. If I don't have AA on in my RS settings, I can't keep the Java applet stable enough to do anything! Yeah, I know that sounds weird, but AA actually helps my PC run RS just barely well enough to even login. This applies even more-so since the Dominion Tower mis-addition, which utterly destroyed my system's framerate. Bot Nuke didn't even affect me, but Dominion Tower totally trashed me here, even though I'm a 100% F2P. BTW, I've already tried to fix this problem myself. Sadly, nothing worked.)

  2. What version of GIMP are you running?
  3. Are you pulling in user images directly onto the background/canvas, or are you loading them as separate layers?
(In regard to these two, I'm smelling an awful import filter here. Your PNG import filter should be maintaining transparency, not giving you black backgrounds. That, you started the document improperly, you're lacking an Alpha/Transparency Channel, and/or you're importing the wrong way.)

  4. What is the minimum/maximum width that you need to do a proper insertion?
(You're mentioning a cutoff of the 10 rightmost pixels. In my opinion, that shouldn't be happening either.)

  5. Any chance sending you a file in GIMP's native format (".xcf") might get around this whole mess and let me send it how I need to send it to you?

Without answers to these questions that I have provided, I'm looking at some computer-crashing breakage (which would block me anyway) to even try to get on this year's "Great Tip Pic" image. So if you could post back here relatively rapidly, I would very much appreciate it. :geek:

@Dax, These are so much easier without the auras.

@Blutters, Made an attempt on yours. The various glows make this one tough. Feel free to request another if you don't feel this one is good enough.

You could take the picture with AA on, then use the point-to-point lasso tool to cut the edges.

He doesn't want AA on because it leaves odd-colored pixels around the character if you just remove the background color and nothing else.

If it has something to do with the transparency however, there has to be something wrong with the project file. (Being started as a non-transparency-supported file perhaps.)

Yeah soo true, everytime I try to make trasnparent; the auras make the magic tool freak out

Could someone try to successfully remove the black in the back without messing up my picture? I can't do it with bucketfill on GIMP. It keeps running into my armor and stuff :ohnoes: ..

If you can't and know you would be able to on a normal pic, please quote and reply to my post so I know I have to change my outfit  .

yeah the new invo screen kinda messes it up.

& the only thing about when gimp runs into the armor, just turn threshold down to 2.7 (normally between 2.5 and 3.0 is where you find a good amount)

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Can we only have one submission?

You can have only one spot, but you are allowed to replace the photo (from what I remember)

@Ren, Glad to see all that bot killing paid off. Also you might need to use the form Kaida posted above to make sure this picture replaces your previous one.
