First and foremost. If you have any issues with the guidelines made for this section of the forums, then take it up with an admin or a moderator. Do not post disdainfully about it.

 

Second. It has been noted that some think that a_bert's RP should be moved to the Library. However, until the time comes that it's a serious and complex enough RP to fit in the Library that the majority of the players think it would best fit there, it will remain in the Tavern.

 

Finally. Flaming is not and will not be tolerated.

 

Now. If you all wish to calmly and rationally discuss a_bert's RP, that is fine. But consider this a warning: the next time I see a rule violation regarding this topic, official action can and will be taken.

As for waiting for 2012: ARE YOU SERIOUS?! ONCE 2012 ROLLS AROUND I'LL BE ANTICIPATING OTHER GAMES AND MOVIES! And, by then, I would have forgotten the new big baddie and a range of others. And, I don't want to forget about someone I want to feature in the game.

Mather, what is your actual problem with the RP's? If you are so easily angered by them why don't you just shut up and ignore them? People are joining the RP in question already and I am planning to do so. You're just being a sad buzzkill.

My problem with RPs is that they do not belong in a games sub-forum. A RP is a book with a different author for each POV, a game is a challenge.

My problem with you however is that you are acting like you're the Tavern elder when even Lei has been here longer than you, you need to learn some humility (although so do I), you may not speak as if on behalf of the Taverns interests and you may not speak as if you know more about it than anyone else here.

No, the Tavern was created to resolve the issue of Hegemony's location, since it really didn't belong in OT. It's evolved past that.

 

And were that description accurate, many of the games we currently have would belong in the Library, where they are currently not and it has not been requested that they move there.

Or indeed bring the world 500 years into the past, as the world erupts into wars with poorly concieved technology and the supposed supremacy of Norway and the innevitable nuclear war when it invades America armed with 4,000 illegal planes.

I don't need to listen to people who have been here longer than me because the guidelines clearly answer the problem, you also need to read them. The guidelines state that not only is it a game forum it is also an RP forum, the board description states that it is a roleplaying forum. The problem seems to be that you don't like RP's and are choosing to present your opinion of dislike as a fact and then claiming that because you have been here longer than I have you are obviously right.

It's like a prison warden who regularly tortures prisoners and claims that because he is older than the guidelines prohibiting it and has been a warden longer the the people who are enforcing the guidelines he is fine to ignore the guidelines.

It should be noted that paradox is having a bit of a steam sale right now (their strategy pack is 75% off).

Archi, you forget that I never get anything I make to work properly, so obviously the technology won't do anything until it is made by someone else, in which case everything would be fine. You also forget that I'm the least militaristic player imaginable, not resorting to the use of weapons until I have to in order to defend myself.

 

I do not hate RPs, I would love to join them if I only had the imagination required.

If there were two of you Mather then I doubt that they would so anything better then you are doing now. There would wimpy be two of you, this means that you wouldn't be pit as dictator, you wouldn't omstanty having funding for research and you wouldn't be able to work on things twice as fast because you'd get in each others way.
