Oh no, its has a glass underneath:

DvXsL.jpg

The light is too bright for a photo to come out as anything but a white ball without the shade on, and its the middle of the night so dark is just as bad =p

And no, both headphones and light are fine, just they weren't on charge during the night.

On an unrelated note, I have perfected the art of cooking bacon bits...basically, you add herbs de provence and cook it in oil =D

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Its a hurricane lamp:

Yhe actual light bit (If you look at where the switch is and then go up) is the same, and the bottom bit (under the oil reservoir) is similar.

As you know my internet is terrible and searching through 500 pictures at 10 pictures a minute would take ages. So I just grabbed a picture that was vaguely similar and assumed people would go 'Oh, he is talking about the top bit'

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

It's the vanity. I don't really mind Mather in general, but the sheer vanity can be rather abrasive at times.

Mather, you think that's impressive? I know a freshman at my school who gets five o' clock shadow, at noon. Crazy stuff man.

I'm not vane, I just prefer to look my age and gender. I never do my hair except sometimes run a brush through it occasionally so it's not a complete mess, and my clothing is as elaborate as a tshirt, a hoodie, a pair of baggy pants, and any pair of black shoes that I know can take the punishment I put them though.

Sure I'm wearing something for looks; a pair of aviators, but their looks are to serve tactical purposes, such as to hide the fact that I barely sleep and to avoid awkward eye contact. They've also more than once saved me when I've gotten so deep in thought that I've fallen into a meditation-like, catatonic state in class (no, not sleep, I just sit there, blocking out everything but my own thoughts).

Vain is spelt with an i, not an e...

I am not overly fussed as we all make mistakes from time to time, but though I would point that out.

Vain vein vane.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12603519/Europa%20Hegemonia.ods

It has taken several hours (exactly 7 to be precise), but the offical beta for Europa Hegemonia is finished.

I have no idea who would run a game using this, but it is there.

Instructions for use:

Anything that is underlined may be altered without crashing the program.

Anyone who has played EU3 should understand the other parts of it.

Press F9 when you want a new battle to be rolled.

Retech, if you could give it your best shot at powergaming (If you could fix any bugs you find that would also be awesome).

Anywho, notes:

It automatically corrects the (Killing) focus if all of the troops in one catagory are dead by distributing that focus between the other two, or the one remaining foci.

It automatically removes destroyed groups from contributing to the battle Co-Efficent. However the Co-Efficent is increased slightly (Not enough to make not having troops of that type a good idea, but enough to not unbalance the game in favour of destroying the weakest stack first and thus cripple the enemy.)

Automatically changes the names on all sheets and boxs if you change the underlined one.

RMS is Relative Military Strength, the differential is the difference between them /1,000. I have no idea if it works, but it is there. (If people want to give out experience or something...or if the GM is asked for 'probability')

A form of 'Attrition' exists, in that even if you destroy the enemy your force will still take Co-Efficent 3 damage per round remaining. GMs can ignore that and just terminate combat at that point.

There is no strong reason to use any sheet other than the first, though you are free to do so. Be mindful that much of the information on other sheets is linked directly to the front page.

Shock/Fire/Manuever are suggested names, they are, by no means, definative. Shock represents physical strength, Fire represents ranged strength and Manuever represents everything else.

The three unit groups are meant as Low Cost-Low Damage/High Cost-High Damage/Support, though nothing demands that you follow those catagories. Programming more catagories would be foolishness to the nth degree.

Battles are split into rounds (1 sheet) and Engagments (1 set of 6 rolls).

Fiat and Mod are seperate and should almost always be decimal. Fiat is a full battle change, as in it will affect that side for the entire round. Mods are single roll changes. As such Fiat represents things like weather, terrain, or the element of suprise, where as mods represent more individual changes...say sabortage, recharge cycles or special abilities. Please keep in mind that adding these mods will be very tedious.

GMs are encouraged to fiddle with the program before they start GMing as small changes yield large results.

Please remember that you can add Unit Types, Generals and such to another file to 'save' them.

Players are encouraged to fiddle with the program as fiddling with Focus can help you tip a battle in your favour and experimenting with Stats will give you an insight into how to develop from that point on.

The Checksum exists to make sure that the Foci are balanced, it should be noted that you can use Foci that add up to more than 1, the Checksum exists only to make sure both sides are balanced and/or they are rewarded accordingly if XP is being handed out.

If there are any suggestions let me know.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I will go over it sometime this week, but I currently have no means to open such a file and do not have enough internet access to download Open Office for the moment.

I think at this point I'm just generically disapproving of or annoyed by everything Mather says or does.

I need to stop being like that.

Yeah, it would be a good idea to "stop being like that". Also, maybe keep such things to yourself as well please? I'd prefer a potential flame war wasn't sparked. Yes, there wasn't one this time. But that kind of posting isn't going to have anything positive come of it.

Anywho.

I am gonna start a new game after the 16th on two conditions:

Condition 1: I get at least three people from the Tavern to agree what type of game they want. (Hegemony/Dungeoneering/Space seem the likely candidates but others are also fine)

Condition 2: I am demanding that we get at least 3 people from outside the Tavern involved. I know Nex knows a roleplaying group that might provide us with some people.

Good luck to everyone =)

And there might be some that are willing to try in my class. I feel like getting Ouyso to join would be demanding a bit much of him seeing how I'm already forcing him to read Homestuck, though he has gotten more willing now that he's more than halfway though act 2.

As a note to anyone who is ever going to cook Corned Beef...Never add oil. The corned beef just acts like some sort of super absorbant sponge and the whole thing is just a really really really foul mix.
