So here is what I plan on doing while killing the king black dragon.

Recommended Posts

Alright, I did make a thread asking for help on soloing the king black dragon, and people did help me out. But instead of thanking the people and actually talking about something relevant to that I went off topic and laughed at people who wanted to help me, and I'm sorry about that. This time I will not go off-topic.

So here is my gear:

I will be wearing:

Coif

Black d'hide body

Black d'hide vambraces

Amulet of Glory

Black d'hide chaps

No boots because I don't have ranger boots and the dragon boots decrease Ranged accuracy (even though it's just by one point it's still a big deal to me.)

Rune crossbow

Antidragon shield

Thieving cape

500 Rune bolts

I will bring:

10 Prayer potions

10 Sharks

2 Law runes

2 Water rune

Prayer: Protect from missiles

Now keep in mind that I will not do it just yet. First I have to make something out of the drops I got from monsters such as bars and ingreniums for food. But as soon as I'm done with that (which could take weeks) I will go directly to fight that dragon.

The reason why I'm asking if this is the right thing to wear is because I don't wanna waste my rune bolts and find out that I don't have the right outfit.

Also, the only degradable item I use is my Verac's helmet, I'm against using any other since I don't wanna pay every few hours when using stuff like that.

This time I promise I will stay on topic, and not laugh at people who are trying to help me.

So here is my gear:

I will be wearing:

Coif Snakeskin Bandana

Black d'hide body

Black d'hide vambraces Culinaromancer's gloves from RFD

Amulet of Glory

Black d'hide chaps

No boots Snakeskin boots - These can be made easily

Rune crossbow

Zamorak book - Anti-dragon shield (in combination with antifire potion)

Thieving cape Ava's Device This is the main thing that will keep bolts from disappearing. It also gives a ranged attack bonus.

500 Rune bolts

I will bring:

10 Prayer potions

10 Sharks

2 Law runes

2 Water rune Use the teleport on the glory

Super antifire potion or Antifire potion

Ranging potion

Antipoison

Fill the remaining spots with food and you should be good to go

That stuff should be easy to obtain, either from quests or made yourself. Good luck

Of course, how could I forget about the antidragon shield? I'm such an idiot. Well I edited the first post to include that.

And thanks for the help. Now I have a question. Let's say my bolts didn't come back. Would 500 rune bolts be enough to kill that dragon or do I need more?

Not that I have a problem getting Ava's device the quest seems easy enough.

Added a few things into my own post :P

I already have all the potions you have added to the post, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I have another question, why can't I teleport to Ardougne as soon as I'm done killing the dragon? Does the wilderness teleport limitation also apply to his lair?

500 runite bolts are more than enough for many kills, unless you are like 40 range.

You can teleport in the lair. Glory is better because it doesn't require more inventory space thus letting you carry more food and getting more kills.

"Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come."

"An imperfect man can do great deeds, and a great man imperfect ones.

No, the limit doesn't still apply to his lair, and you can teleport there as soon as you're done. BUT, with the amulet of glory, you already have a teleport on your character and it leaves space for 2 more pieces of food if it replaces the runes.

Killing him one at the time is just as fast as banking, he respawns VERY slowly (to the point that some people hop worlds for faster kills).

You could try bringing a familiar, the lair is multi-combat so it can fight for you or carry supplies.

Those potions will last you more than an hour, if you're doing a short trip, just bring 1 antifire/antipoison++, and a ranging potion, every extra space for food helps! ;)

Maybe I am going overboard with the potions. Yeah, since it will probably only take me one antifire potion to kill the dragon having 5 is more than unnecessary.

Will shark even be necessary at all? I mean if I'm holding a shield, using antifire potions and protect from ranged while fighting the dragon from distance will he be able to harm me?

I'll see for myself when I solo that thing. Which will be in a few days.

Yes. It will still hit you.

Super antifires only reduce his special dragon fire attacks to a max hit of 100.

I suggest you read this...

http://tip.it/runescape/?page=King_Black_Dragon_Guide.htm

Its pretty up to date. Otherwise check out my blog for a melee guide. At your melee stats meleeing will be faster than ranging. One dose of super antifire should last you at least 3 kills (lasts me 4-5 but I'm overloaded with turmoil and 99 str +Crapier).

I just wanna thank you guys again. Thanks for all the help.

This dragon was very easy to take down, because I was prepared to fight him. The first thing he dropped were 4 sharks, kinda dissapointing, but it's ok.

I might kill this beast again some time. And I also realized that I might need a lot of sharks, but I only need a few doses of each potions, less than four, so it was unnecessary to bring 5 of each.

Thanks for the help, I don't know when I'll kill this dragon again, but since I had to waste so many sharks on him, I don't think I'm gonna do it regularly.
