Just report them and move on. That's what I do.

Like Bows said just report them and move on. You can also try putting your Private on "Friends" only. They can't PM you then. :smile:

 

I usually play with Private "On", but then I get five of those spamming me at once and I just turn it off. :evil:

Another tip: You will most often get these when you're in a public friend's chat (Effigy assisting, penguins, stars, whatever), so if you don't want to have your public set to friends all the time, you can at least set it to friends when you're in such a fc and leave it on all if you're not in one.

 

Or you can try to get a rank in the chat, then you'll get less pms as well :P

Don't worry. Soon, Jagex will monopolise the RWT market. Then there won't be any other RWT-advertising bots.

 

I usually view them as entertainment - I try to memorise the best offer I get. So far, for me, the record is $14,58 for 20M. What I never get is why several of them message me at the same time. I mean, it's obvious they belong to the same person/company, else they wouldn't all be sent in under a split-second, but then why do they advertise different websites and different prices?

If you get the same accounts messaging you day after day but want to keep private on, you can always just add them to your ignore list (permanently, not the 'ignore until you log out' one).

I get a few randomly, but I just report and temp ignore and that's it. I personally dislike playing with pm on friends.

I haven't been hit by one of those in years. Just lucky I guess :P

I've gotten like four in the course of three days...then the guy asking me if I wanted to be a player mod. Did you know player mods get membership for life and Party Hats?!

Ditto! I like people to be able to contact if they need to, so I always play with private on. Always lame when I get these messages though. :wall:

My last post was before I got membership again, and....wow. They certainly have become a lot worse. They don't really seem to be connected to fcs anymore either.

 

For me the part that's actually bothering me the most is how pointless this is. Those pms are so illegible you can't make out anything anyways. If I wanted to buy gold(I don't - just in case), I'd google it and not spend minutes deciphering such a pm....

The best part is how predictable their timing is.

 

As soon as I enter G.E. or some other high-population area, it takes around 5 minutes for me to receive 3-5 posts in a row.

I agree completley with the origanal post F those people. I dont bot, I dont do real world trading. Anyone who actually does that doesnt even have respect for the game, and therfore should not even play it in the first place

I agree completely. Sometimes i need to turn my private on to allow a friend to qh and i get random messages from people. I just end up reporting them and turning private to friends again. Oh well =/.

 

That hasn't happened to me in months, maybe it's because i'm a f2per.

 

There really isn't much you can do, just report and ignore them and go on with what you were doing.
