Really enjoyed that quest - wasn't too difficult but was really well done IMO. Only requirement I didn't have for the rewards was 90 prayer - guess I'll have to claim that one whenever I get around to spending some bank on dragon bones.

Looks like they're still trying, and others have started setting up accounts that aren't made by him to scam with too. Just saw this at W2 GE: Wonder how long it will take for him to take the hint and just stop altogether?

Seems accounts in that section of the GE now are saying the new one is "FIshy Dices". For some reason, I'll bet that FC will find itself with the same fate very soon. He can keep trying all he wants, but looks like Jagex has him beat here.

That's sad. Idiots don't know when to stop. ^ This tbh. :/

With the update to EoC (and changes made to the Combat Calculator earlier this week), the current Combat Calculator has a slight error. A friend tested with his alternate account, which has a total level of 38, and currently has 2 defence and 2 prayer on the account. Currently, the combat calculator would predict that the user's combat level would be 6. However, as prayer does NOT affect a user's combat level, a slight change needs to be made in the coding of the calculator to remove prayer from affecting a combat level in any way. As far as I'm aware, the rest of the fields listed on that calculator are correct. Link to page: http://tip.it/runescape/pages/view/combat_calc.htm?page_redir=combat_calc.htm Just figured I'd post this here so it can be highlighted to the Tip It Crew team for fixing. :) Thanks!

Bloom really is awesome - the current laptop that I have supports it and dungeoneering and other activities are just so much more amazing now. While on the topic of the beta outfit there...Jagex really had a sense of humor when writing the examine text for each of the various items: Haters gonna hate. :P -
How likely am i to get my account back?
Applejuiceaj replied to War_Junky_91's topic in Help and Advice
You're actually in luck. The email being changed is actually quite a common thing that happens these days, and Jagex has set up a system for allowing a user to have the email changed so they can recover. Quick find code: 250-251-14-64106024 //Home / RuneScape Forums / Account Help / A Hijacker Has Set Email There's a template that is posted on that thread, which can be filled out and emailed to "[email protected]", where Jagex can check out the information and remove the email address for you so that you may recover the account. Currently I'm unaware of the average response time to that email address; previously it had one of over a month but I think Jagex Customer Support has recently moved quite a bit of their behind the scenes support to it to get it all caught up, and I believe users are getting their response in around a week. Regardless, as long as you email them the filled out template and all the information is correct I'm sure they'll be able to help you get back on your account again. Hope this helps and good luck! -
As I think I mentioned at some point (or maybt it was in PM to a friend when the ban first happened), the name recognition is the death of them. Jagex locking these FC's is easily going to put them out of business. Yeah, that's also true. Even something such as a MAC address could potentially work, or a combination of all three. Changing all three would be quite annoying.

A few make it all the way, but not many. Compared to the number of bots that show up at Explorer Jack in World 1 (making it past account creation, where some get banned within seconds of actually creating their accounts) compared to those that actually make it to the GE, it really is doing its job. Of course, while people want *all* of them banned before they can make it to the GE, the fact is that so many already are banned before making it to the GE that what we're seeing there are actually very little that make it all the way. I said the same, "LOL". Its only a matter of time before all of this repeats itself. My guess is that Jagex is watching all of his accounts now, and he won't be around for much longer (not to mention, the first ban killed his name recognition, which will eventually put him out of business). Not to mention, World 2 GE seems a lot quieter now that a few of more of the big scale gambling "clans" have been axed. With Dare's name being changed (and later sniped, then banned completely by Jagex), to these two bans, the GE is now filled with a few smaller gambling clans trying to make it big. Guess we'll have to see if those are sent out of business in the next few months as well.

And adding onto that, Jagex has announced via the Account Help forum that their email system is having a few problems currently, which might explain your problem. You can view their thread here Also be sure that you are entering the original log in name when trying to recover the account. Best of luck with your recovery!

Somewhat "high" floor time is only because the group I usually go with kills everything except for things in dead ends. Floor takes a little longer but it makes DG just a little more enjoyable. -
I'm looking forward to it tbh, we'll have to see how it goes.

Was getting somewhere in between 5 and 10 before, now in Runespan I'm getting 15-20. I'm sure it will be higher once I leave Runespan though as my fps were generally low while there before. (Edit to add - If I turn textures off I instantly get 27-30, but I like keeping them on since it makes the game look better and I can still play just fine with lower FPS (as long as its not slideshow like) so I don't mind)

Never thought I'd ever see the day I'd achieve this level: Makes 6 easy RC levels in 3 days, and most likely more to come at some point. -
*ticks 48 hour mute box and gets spammed by many many more* :(

Maybe we shouldn't temporarily ignore PM spammers...
Applejuiceaj replied to Arceus's topic in General Discussion
Seeing as the spam filter isn't able to quash those who are able to type a full line of text every 2 seconds, i can't see it doing much for pming 100 people in 5. >.< -

Pretty sure they have two bots, one that scans for names (not necessarily in game) and one that PMs. There are also ones that spam anyone who runs through crowded areas. This would be about right I think. Normally they trawl for names in popular fc's, or by running a bot through a crowded area like the GE, and then forward the list of names to other bots. At least I think they send it to other bots because that explains why you get spammed by a whole bunch in waves (all working off the same name finder). Sounds about right. Usually if I do get the spam its because I'm in one of those two locations (a popular fc or the GE). My record was 8 in 30 seconds once during an event in a popular fc which led me into the ge, and it was just about everyone there who instantly started complaining so I know I wasn't the only target. I wonder about muting these sometimes as surely they pm just about everyone all at once so by the time the mute hits they've done their damage, but then again it does take them out of commission for a few while they hop to a new account to continue. At least Private messages set to friends resolves it (although I really do hate doing that). -

Reached my latest Dungeoneering Milestone earlier... We did have a fifth, but their internet dc'd about 10 minutes into the floor so we made do with 4 (lucky for us, no emote rooms). Caused the floor to go a little longer than usual (was a kill-all-but-dead-ends floor so not the usual 10 minute rush) but wasn't too bad imo. Also have 370k tokens with no clue what I want to buy...hm... Next up - another 5.6m xp for 100 and bind #3. :) -

I really enjoyed this year's event; the hunts, while different than the traditional quest like events, have been fun and have been a great way to bring the Runescape Community together. :) -
Yes it does - it increases your "Level Mod" which can reach a maximum of 10% (this gets factored into your total modifier). Do remember though that if you happen to be going for max xp per hour, it might not be a bad idea to not necessarily clear all rooms - the time you end up saving by not killing every monster will amount to another floor, which will give more xp in the long run. ;)
-
I experienced two earlier, haven't actually had any internet problems or issues like this recently until today. After the second though the game has run flawlessly for hours, so dunno what caused it.

Doesn't really help me but I'm not one who ranges too often so I don't mind too much. I do approve of the note in the patch notes which was added to prevent scamming, always nice seeing that. ;)

Very interesting. Good to see that (from the way things are looking) something is being done.

Tip.It Times - 4th September 2011 (Jiblix Interview)
Applejuiceaj replied to Racheya's topic in General Discussion
I really enjoyed reading this article, that's for sure. A few things to just comment on here (referring to things said on this thread, not in the article): Firstly, while I can understand why Jagex would want their mods to be on the same page as them (which does make sense, seeing as they are sort of representing the company by wearing the crown), its also important to remember that each and every person is entitled to having their own opinions. Sadly it just seems that Jagex won't listen to opinions that don't match theirs and this has been represented well over the RSOF in the past few months. Jibby (who is a very good friend of mine) wasn't the only one who was removed for posting stuff that...hm how should I word it..."content that didn't agree with their current policies"; I know of at least one or two more mods who were removed from the team for similar things. Funny thing is that all this seems to do is plague the forums. I was reading a thread in Future Updates just the other night which was posted by an FMod regarding the updates coming for this upcoming month (the OP wasn't really too happy with the month other than ROTM), and all I found was comments along the lines of "inb4demod, gf" written all over it. Go back a few months from now and if the same exact thread was posted, no such comments would have appeared *anywhere* on the RSOF. Secondly, a few posts back (I can't remember which and its late and I don't feel like scrolling up) a comment was made on resignations never being "willing" or something like that. From what I've seen over the past year and a half that I've been active on the RSOF it seems resignations take place for one of a few reasons: either because the person doesn't agree with Jagex and does not wish to to represent them anymore as a mod, sometimes just because the player wants to go back to being a normal player like everyone else (yes, not everyone thinks they're king of the hill when they're a mod), and some just decide to leave because they're taking a break from the game or just feel that modding isn't the same anymore or don't have time for the commitment anymore. I say this knowing at least one mod who would fit into each and every one of these categories. Thirdly, I genuinely think that some JMods do know the problem exists. I'm good friends with a few JMods, one of which (not mentioning names here although a few people who know me well may know who I'm referring to) I often chat to while they're on their lunch break or just whenever they're on playing cuz they feel like playing and every now and then, one of us passes a comment referencing the bot problem and how it seems nothing is being done about it (more often than not, I don't make the first comment). The topic of Jagex's marketing has come up a few times as well and from what I've been able to gather, as some of us can expect, almost everything is being called by whoever is the head of the marketing dept for Jagex and those on the lower end of the totem pole (some of which have been there for 5+ years) find themselves almost with no say at all, just like the rest of us. In any case, I think we all know that bots exist and they annoy the heck out of almost all of us. Personally though what keeps me coming back to play the game are the friends I've made while playing, clan events, getting to be a part of a community that shares some of the same interests that I do, etc. That...and the fact that while I've been playing for a very long time (5+ years) I've really only gotten to try a very small portion of the "older content" (still have tons of quests to do and haven't played over half of the minigames/activities yet) so I really don't have too many reasons to complain. I know the bots are there but I just try my hardest to ignore them as I know that while they're there working away, there are still plenty of ways for me to get away from them and still have fun. Anyway, I think I'm starting to ramble on as it seems I always end up doing so I'll end this here. *goes back to lurking the RSOF* Oh and one last thing...Jibby is a n00b who should be training RC, but I think he already knew that. :P
