January 11, 201412 yr Hmm. An interesting thing to think about. I don't know what my first game was. I feel as though it may have been either Road Rash or Crash Bandicoot. Both amazing. A lot of my time playing Road Rash was hitting other racers for dad so he could focus on racing, I played a little but I was never as good as dad, hell, not even as good as my brother. And my time with Crash Bandicoot was watching my (now ex-)stepdad play and play a little myself. Road Rash was awesome fun, and Crash Bandicoot started me on a path of loving Naughty Dog games more than life itself. January 11, 201412 yr So. Persona 3 (specifically, Portable). Probably going to end up being one of my favorite games of all time for a bunch of reasons that the question doesn't permit me to discuss: including but not limited to; the characters, the lore, background, and mythology references, the characters, the plot, the characters, the gameplay, and the characters. So, problems: the fact that the plot really only moves once per month is annoying because I feel like I'm being incredibly wasteful with the limited time I do have since I have no idea what to do - it's like "Am I a high enough level for the next fight? Would more grinding make me overleveled? Is there some social link I missed? Should I have started dating someone by now? Am I missing anything by not going to all of these club meetings? What do I do?". It doesn't help that I'm trying to avoid spoilers as zealously as I would for Breaking Bad.[spoiler=Using spoiler tags to hide spoilers? BLASPHEMY]That sort of thing really came back to bite me when Shinjiro died, though that was incredibly effective since I did not see it coming.- From a gameplay perspective, it's frustrating to be locked out of finishing the Moon arcana.- From a story perspective, SHINJIRO WHY :cry: . I honestly considered restarting so that I could get it (both for gameplay and story reasons), but naturally this happens pretty much right at the point where it's too late to just start over. Tl:dr: Alg reacts to freeform gameplay in the same way that a vampire reacts to garlic. TNPW sing praises about their latest gaming pursuit. Or rant about it if it didn't go so well. January 21, 201412 yr Played Dust an Elysian Tail. It wasn't very good. Pretty much everything about the story was incredibly awful - bad dialogue, terrible plotholes, random and contrived events, bad pacing, etc. The game, though, was pretty good - the gameplay was fun, if not very in depth, and the art and music were both awesome. If it were better written, I think it could have been really good, but the writing kind of ruined it for me, probably because I focus on story more than other things. [bleep] the one day rule TNPW do something productive they're avoiding, and then post about their progress.
