February 1, 200620 yr Nice find. Although jagex has mentioned on their corporate site that they're interested in advertising in-game, I think it's just a coincidence that they look similar. It's really just a few lines which happened to look similar to that logo and have the same background color imo.

February 1, 200620 yr Chevrons are one of the oldest heraldic symbols. It's more likely a pure coincidence that a flag in runescape features white chevrons on a red background, and a car manufacturer also uses the same in their logo. But nice find :)
