jepukka
Greetings everyone. I made a goal to get 99 thieving about month and one week ago and im thieving 97 now. Well i was wondering is the really an good way to make money with thieving. Even at 97 paladins still caughts u very very often. Knights wont do that but they aint so fast money. Heros, gnomes and elves are useless... And then chests what is the point in, lets say nature runes box when u get one nat rune every 20sec thats like 3 nat runes in one min and 180 in one hour. Blood rune chests .. and king lathas chest .. Picking doors :P So my question is and i hope i could get answer from some 99 thievers, What is the best way to make money with thieving if there really is a good way. (and yea feel free to say whatever u want i dont care kkthx)
Y2g2003
Well I'm not a lvl 99 thiever, but I'd imagine that maybe you could make some money thieving seeds off farmers. The Exp is "ok", could prolly get better results else where, but the seeds you could probably sell for money. Could be wrong, I haven't really been following prices so much. Theres bound to be people needing seeds though that don't want to waste time thieving them. Thats my 2 cents at least. R.I.P Shiva
razzzzzza
Well I had never classed theiving as a money making skill, it is just slow, annoying, worthless, boring (list goes on and on)
jepukka
To be honest that could be nice way to get money, yea. But to get even ranarr seed is so rare ...
Y2g2003
To be honest that could be nice way to get money, yea. But to get even ranarr seed is so rare ... Yeah, I suppose most of the "seeds of intrest" would really be the tree seeds and the rarer herbs. But even at my level, which is 71, I could manage to get some herbs seeds and some special seeds. Thats really the only thieving related thing I can think of that would be an effective way of making money. R.I.P Shiva
jepukka
but then again i wonder which way those who have 30M or more thieving exp have done that. And i dont think they did it just for exp coz it would be so worthless and useless and many other things...
bflat0
I'm nowhere near a good thief... mainly have done it for quests. I figure you get more money from dropds than by thieving. As for seeds... yes farmers are good for everything but I get better herb seeds doing my slayer assignments and tree seeds from chopping trees. I personally do not see thieving as a money making skill.
mindflayerlord
im lvl 50 thieving so dont take anything i say seriously its probably just gonna get u killed but y dont you head over to the elves and get muchos exp there? it seems like they give uber amounts of xp and there seem to be enough of them...oh well what do i know
jepukka
even if elves gives 353 exp per pickpocket they will caught u almost every time and can caught u 10 or more times in a row so aint so good ...
Guest anbuwolffy
Well I had never classed theiving as a money making skill, it is just slow, annoying, worthless, boring (list goes on and on) it helps other skills. for example i use the raw sharks i get from the ardy chest to charge my lyre. its a nice shortcut. true it isnt a top money making skill but it helps all the skills in a way. oh and it is not slow, in fact it is one of the fastest exp gain rates (knights). jepukka
thats true what anbuwolffy said. i think and im pretty sure that if u dont get bored it fastest to get to 99 after cooking if u have all fishes ready in ure bank.
Fromfirst2Last1987
yanille watchmen are decent, you can camp there without ever leaving because each one gives 60 gp and a bread and you dont get caught to often. i dont know i prefer them over pallys. pallys are just good to get my newb chaos runes Dragon Drops: 5 medium helmet, 3 left shield halfObby: Maul 1, Cape 1, Shield

Daveyboyz
I have 86 thiefing and that was mainly from stealing chaos from palidins when I was going nuts as an ancient in castle wars. The guides say this is 180k an hour at a high level, personally I havent tested this but I tend to get about 250 chaos and about 10k off one bag of lobsters which I guess takes me about 20-30 minutes. I would never craft chaos because if I use abyss I craft death or laws and usually runecraft nats on brimhaven (because I find I can craft 1000 an hour here risk free from pkers) I steal from the farmer as well, I use cooked sweetcorn here as its cheap food and sustained by the seeds I get. From memory I would say off 18 pieces of sweetcorn I get 3 or 4 decent herb seeds which I class as rannar, kwaarm, snapdragon, cadentyme and lantadyme with 7 or 8 limpwurt, 15-18 sweetcorn seeds 1-2 watermelon and 2-3 strawberry. I also save the specials and whiteberry seeds. It is a pain dropping all the low level seeds but someone always picks them up and is glad of them. Since my farming is improving (66 at present) I find I am here a great deal of time trying to get seeds but I can see no alternative since the price of decent seeds seems to exessive to warrant buying. Therefore in my assessment this makes thieving a worthwhile and useful skill to me but I see no advantage having 99 rather than 82. Once you can open that door in yannille dungeon I would stop training theif levels and just use it when u need it.
sabrerokz
kings chest is the best money wise while waiting for it to respawn picpocket paladins DUH  and although paladins catch u a lot u can make up for it using the sharks hehhe
Fat_Slug
99 here, basically i love thieving and getting the better of a npc  i even made members on a noob for a month so i could do some more again. i do it basically cuz it relaxes me and when doing it i love chasing the npc around and getting better of it. i got it to 83 innitially so i could do the yannille door to the dungeon, and my love of it grew from there. i admit it isn't the best money earner, but i think i have enough seeds for farming to get into high 80's at least(15 atm) purely from theiving the master farmers. DarkDude
On rsc, thieving was "the" skill, used to be great for making money because it was an easy source of hard to get items. But Thieving is one of the skills RS2 killed, it's pretty pointless now as there are far better ways of making money. Although I still enjoy Thieving I feel it was better on RSC. kido14
It has no point on RS2 for making money. Jagex screwed it over. On RSC bloods could sell 3k ea, so you could get 6.5k every time you thieved the blood rune chest. Chaos would sell for 400 ea. Now, you get the same amount of runes, but they are worth less than 1/2 of their old price. Almost every skill(with the exception of maybe mining) got much easier in RS2. For thieving, it's harder if anything. In RSC, you had a pretty decent chest you wouldn't get hit for any dmg when you were caught. However, thieving chests are easier since you can do it while in combat, and m ore than 1 person can get it. Albosky
As a 99 thief , I'll say , theres really no way to thieve enough to compare to the various other ways of making money nowadays. the 99 is just nice for the skill total , you might as well finish it up since you are 97 anyways , but dont expect those 2 levels to change anything for the better. and yes , the ones with 30M exp in thieving DID do it for the experience , some people just like high rankings , and herbaman did it to be first to 100M in a skill (which he achieved). I like to fart silently but deadly in movie theatersArd Choille says (11:41 PM):I wouldn't dare tell you what to do m'dear
DiLord
Yeah, I'm a RSC kid(on old account Dark DiLord) and thieving was the skill to get everything. Theiving natures as soon as I hit 28 up until 59 was great money. 500gp per nat, well worth it. Then when I could theive bloods they sold for 1k each if i remember right. I miss RSC theiving... Mutian
You can steal from Silver stockings and even to Gems! Gems are great moneymakers, Silver is also a little jewel after you have something arround 500 Silver bars.
