Urza285
Ok, so inevitably we have seen the release of the Evolution of Combat. Plenty of players are starting to feel the strain and hardships of pioneering a new era in runescape both in their pockets as well as their knowledge of the game. Normally Tip.it would have made efforts to make a database collection of new information. Maybe they have or maybe they have not. Regardless I think doing the community the best service is in creating a database so the site editors can pull from this information for later use. Before hunting or and submitting information please read the notes below: - Please exclude all dungeoneering monsters for the sake of this project. There are too many variants to be checked on and the overworld is much more important at the time. - All monsters have specific combat triangle weaknesses, but using the exact weakness is most effective at scoring a hit. With that said that is why you should say "magic (air)" or ranged (thrown) versus "magic" or "air". - Monster weaknesses are dependent on location. For example aberrant specters at the slayer tower are weak to thrown range weapons. While aberrant specters located at the smokey well are weak to arrows. Please keep this in mind and submit your locations as well. - If you desire to collect life point values for monsters then please include them as well. This would help ease the work load of the database crew. Name: Level: Life-points: Weakness: Location: Here are a couple examples: Name: Giant spider Level: 4 Weakness: Melee (Crush) Location: Edgeville Dungeon Name: Ghost Level: 36 Weakness: Ranged (thrown) Location: Edgeville Dungeon Maxed [February 14, 2012] | Completionist [October 25, 2012] | Trimmed Completionist [in Progress]Visit my Blog! Kimberly
LP values were changed as well, so add that to your template too. Also where the npc was located would probably help too.
Sy_Accursed
LP values were changed as well, so add that to your template too. Also where the npc was located would probably help too. It would probably also help to use the pre-existing tip.it names based on locale. Eg if the ghosts in place x are listed on tip.it as Ghost -3- post em here as Ghost -3- that way for duplicate monsters there won't be issues of marrying correct data to correct version. Urza285
I think lp values are a whole new grueling challenge. I posted this just to mostly help the community for the mean time. I think getting lp values is of no reason concern compared to sorting out a weakness table at the moment. Though I feel it is important, but not nearly as much as updating the database for weaknesses. Sy_Accursed
True it's not as vital; but still can't hurt to have it in the template as an optional so people can include it if they so desire and thus helping the crew further in speeding up the process of getting things up to date. 1 Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

Ginger_Warrior
It might not be useful to the Crew since it hasn't been submitted on Tip.It, but RuneShark already did a quick check of all of Kuradel's assignments; a list version is also available. XPW are doing a lot of work on the weaknesses of DG monsters, but I can't make head or tail of the way spell weaknesses have been allocated in particular. Different levels of the same monster have different weaknesses... madness. It's the same with Dagannoths in the overworld... 112s weak to air, 110s weak to slash. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
Noxx
Name: Fire GiantsLevel: 134Life-points: 3350 / 5990Weakness: SlashLocation: Chaos Tunnels Might be a good idea to include the location of said monster too, then. Since their weaknesses change from location to location it would be of no use to to know their weakness if we do not know which location.

Even the Runeshark data isn't 100% correct theres variants for overworld too.Aberrant Spectres at the slayer tower are weak to thrown, but in the Smokey Well they are weak to arrow - as learnt when I checked tower to gear up for task then got half way through task at well and was like wait a minute these say arrow not thrown. Not sure if the combat level differs even for this example, didn't pay it to much attention. Randox
The crew is adding this information in as they update the bestiary. For example [monster=923] was updated a little while ago. The submit correction links have fields for all the information we currently need. If you would like to create a sister thread to this in the bestiary corrections subforum with your template, that could be helpful though, for those that really want to use the forums. I'll leave this as a discussion thread though, as there is merit in all this info collecting talk |^_^| However, all corrections not submitted through the site should be posted into the website corrections and updates area of the forums. NukeMarine
Probably better to have a Google Document with a select number of people able to edit but everyone can look at. Shouldn't take much after that to finish. Good info should be: Name, Level, Life Points, Exp, Weakness, Attack Type, Location Here's one spreadsheet that can be copied and formatted for a more useful document: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AijPwW2LWy18dE1SMExsYjU2aC12ZVhmSENxS0pUN2c#gid=0 Learn how to Learn Japanese on your own - Nukemarine's Suggested Guide for Beginners in JapaneseStop Forgetting Stuff for College and Life - Anki - a program which makes remembering things easyReach Elite Fitness - CrossFit
