Sy_Accursed
Thats juts a coincidence. It should Rune Scape as previously said, if you take the time thousands of names of companys etc that are made of up syllables tht each can be a wrod in thier own right can break down differently. Its early in the morning for me and i can't think of ne but I know there r others LoL it's said runescape but they got the idea from connecting the words run and escape. they actualy got the word RuneScape from runes, and scape  Runes were letters used by the vikings. in mythical terms they are stones used for sorcery Scape=land so land of runes, magive ect.. ty for saving me the time of explaining the concept of using a word used within the game and the meaning of scape in a combined fashion to create a name. I mean people don't name things like that, either something is created around a name or the name is tailored to it. I mean basing the name on run escape, when it is a game based on its own 'scape' whihc includes 'runes' would be like calling a song about heartbreak "Merry Christmas" unless it was used in an ironic way Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

Leonard
I've always liked to say that they could also do "Rune's Cape" and that can be like the ultimate cape from some really hard quest where you help some guy named Rune... lol That's a cool idea

Melter
this is just a coincidence, y r all u ppl so suspicious about runescape? you see some demoinic marks on walls for decoration and think it has something to do with a new quest. runescape is called RUNE-SCAPE. Its only by coincedence that the name of the armor and magic stones are called RUNE. Scape is just another word to playing or using something (Playing the game, SCAPING!). RAHK
When I was in the computer lab at the Nelson Rec. in Ft. Lewis I walked past someone staring intently at a computer screen. Because of the angle that I was sitting (waiting in line) I asked him what was demanding so much of his attention (by saying "Wutchadoin?"). He told me that he was playing "Run Escape". This sounded like a corny NES game and when I got up to look at it (losing my place in line... gotta love cherries  ) my suspicions were confirmed when I saw the graphics. "Is this a NES-mod?" I queried. He corrected me by telling me it was an epic quest that involved doing every possible task put forth so that you can eventually escape the fantasy land and get back to reality. (I found out later that he was told that by HIS friend.) After watching him battle a few scorpions and catch a few trout I asked a couple more questions to satisfy my curiosity. He said that he had to leave so I started up a character right then and there (essentially getting back in line where I was before my spot was commandeered.) A week later we got into an argument over whether it was "Run Escape" or "Runes Cape". I told him that the fantasy land was the ONLY land and that it was OBVIOUSLY the Cape (think Cape as in land that juts out into the sea) of Runes (when I was under the impression that runes "grew" there). A week after that we both admitted the truth of "Rune Scape". So, to make a long story short, I also noticed the other possible variations of "r-u-n-e-s-c-a-p-e". 8) Did I mention that I spent most of that time chopping trees and selling them to the general store because the goblins were too stingy with the gp? PM me in game to use some skills of mine (glories/potions) free or to ask a question.Fire Cape - 04/29/06 Lvl 104RAHK's Pro PC Gear and Guide(clickable) Tired of hack and slash? FPSers getting old?
