Theiving ideas

Ok i was thieving master farmers today and thought up some ways they could make theiving better.

First with chests they could make it so that as you get more lvls you get more or a better chest reward. Take the nat chest as an example for every certain amount of lvls you get you get another nat for stealing from the chests.

Or while pickpocketing you take less damage and/or are stunned less as your lvl increases.

Anyone else agree with me?

The only 2 things I can think of is letting you be able to thieve tree seeds from Master Farmers and giving everyone a reminder of I before E except after C.

reign. That rule does not quite work

i like thieving its ok, better when you could wear armor not get hit and run away and back, no hits down and you waste same amount of time as if getting stunned. 69 thieving helps on master farmers quite well tho

"...or when it sounds like 'a,' as in 'neighbor' and 'weigh.'"

I think the system itself is fine, there just aren't as many tangible rewards as... nearly every other skill.

science

hm... screw that rule

..."or when it sounds like science, as in 'science' and 'science.'"

Yeah, there are exceptions to every rule, lol. The rule really pertains to when the two are joined together in one syllable, whereas in science the syllable splits i-e... but the rule doesn't make that very clear.

AT LEAST double the amount of runes you get every where. Thieving was useful in RSC when bloods were 3k ea and chaos 400 ea. Also, ever skill got a bit easier on rs2, with the exception of mining, so maybe thieving should be able to thieve as many times as possible until you get caught with just one click.

Yeah, I really wish Jagex would do somthing about theiving. There is nothing really worth the time to theive... gems, silver, fur, cakes? lol? You know, those thing might have been good money back in RSC, but now that the cost of money is lower in RS2 and there are lots of ways to make money that are much easier and much more profitable, none of those things are really worth it. The bloodrune chests were REALLY good for profit back in the days of RSC, but now bloodrunes are MUCH cheaper, and now the bloody blood rune chests teleport you out evertime you theive from them. I like to train on the ogres down there, but I don't even waste my time with the chests even when I am down there because the couple of bloods aren't worth the walk back down there.

I think it would be nice if Jagex would add some thing in there that were a little more profitable, like being able to rob banks (not other players' items, of course) at high levels, mabye even a bit of bulgary for some nice $, you know, things that are a bit more criminal, not just being petty pickpockets even at high levels

i agree when i was lower leveled, and didn't know much about all the other skills, i was quite happy to sit there and thieve til the sun went down, but now that i'm a higher and a more knowledgable i think it's got nothing on all the other skills, i so yeah i think there should be more tangable rewards, or more things the thieve...

so in simple words i agree it does need improvment

Hmmm... If people are wanting double experience for doing something that takes less skill, I'm not sure how that works.

Take Runecrafting for instance. You can create more runes when you become more experienced in the skill. You still get the exact same amount of experience. That's a good system.

What about giving you double the money/reward? That wouldn't do either. You could be thieving a "man" and he could be giving the same money as (insert what ever person/stall is next). Plus how could you steak two cakes at a time, multiple silver ores. Gems being very small you could do it? No, the owner is obviously watching them very closely so you'd have to get one as soon as possible so as not to get caught, if you could take your time you'd pick out a diamond from the gem stall.

That's my rationalization of thieving.

I'll tell you I love the blood chests - would not change them - and I recently started thieving watchmen... all of a sudden thieving seems reasonable to me. I know a friend who's level 82 who can make 180k in gp and chaos runes in an hour.

sorry yes i did mean less time
The time you get stunned does really go down as you progress in levels, as you get stunned less because your theiving level is higher. As for the chest idea, there are already better rewards for the higher level chests the thieve.

I find it takes a HUGE thieving level to level req difference to actually notice that your thieving level matters.

my gripe with thieving is the items thieved at higher lvls, and the stun damage.

Make the stunning damage be the same no matter the npc you're picking. Heros, gnomes and elves shouldn't hit so high when you fail so much. If this is the idea for thieving just make it so the npc doesn't stun you but attacks you like on rsc.
