nickt198
Morning, just a quickie but I received a Spring Cleaner from Squeal a treasure chest yesterday and am just wondering if anybody has much experience with it or could tell me if it's any good and if so, what to expect?Cheers. Major Dash
Expect getting free banking for rune drops during a slayer task. “I had a feeling we weren’t coming back from this fight when it began.”“Do you have any regrets?”“I don’t. It seems surprising, I know, but I wouldn’t change a thing. This is how it was meant to be.”“Huh, you never really notice how lovely the day is until you realize you’ll never see it again.”“Mmmhmm.”
Saradomin_Mage
It's pretty good for any rune weapons and armour, especially those that are made of multiple bars. Use the dismantle mode on them. I wouldn't use it on anything else. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

stealthchris117
Is there any info on how much bonus xp you get from drop if using that mode? I have one, but didn't test it out yet. Figured I would use it on Slayer Tasks, but wasn't sure which mode. 1 ---------------------------- ';..;' ----------------------------
Saradomin_Mage
For metal weapons and armour, the bonus smithing XP was I think 90% of what you would have gotten if you smithed the item yourself. Alright for non-runite items I guess. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
Ammako
Is it worth it to buy springs from other people to turn the adamant battleaxes from abyssal demons into BXP?
Steph
If the cost of one spring is less than the materials you'd buy for similar xp, then yes [2:21:46 PM] Baldvin | Leik: these comp reqs are so bad [2:22:36 PM] Arceus Dark: Time to get...req'd? Levells
Just to help keep things updated, a clannie said he got 337 bxp from a rune Chain, which is 1.5x normal smiting xp. That, or it counts the bars too and does the 90% as suggested above. I honestly never really smelted rune to even realize how much each bar would have given you... Urza285
There is a thread on rsof that says bxp isnt worth it. The best monsters to use it on are kal'gerion demons and potentially muspah. Unknown_Warrior
It's an underappreciated items that's better than alching or pack yak banking in many case if you use it to break down into components (rather than bonus xp)For example, adamant battleaxes (common drop from abyssal demons):• Alchs for: 2496• Breaks down into: 3x adamant ore (85%), 18x coal (85%*85%) [THESE ARE PLACED IN BANK NOT IN INVENTORY], totals to ~9864 current GE prices So even with springs being 2k each at the moment, that still amounts to 5368gp profit per adamant battleaxe. This can be extended to virtually ALL OTHER alchable armour and weaponry (bar platelegs and bars, who are best alched or banked, respectively) Dragon Drops : 5 Dragon Medium Helmets, 3 Dragon Claws, 3 Dragon platelegs, 2 Dragon plateskirts, 2 Dragon Hatchets, 2 Dragon Spears, 7 pairs of Dragon Boots, 1 Dragon pickaxe, 10 Dragon defenders, 3 Dragon 2h swords, 1 Dragon armour Slice, 1 Dragon armour Lump, 1 Dragon chainbody, 1 Dragon kiteshield, 1 Dragon hasta, 1 Dragon ward, 25 Dragon knives pairsThe Warrior's Blog , Herblore Habitat - Efficient and profitable[hide=Stats and logs].:Adventurer's Log:.[/hide]
Urza285
Yeah and imagine the spring used in conjunction with portable forges? Maxed [February 14, 2012] | Completionist [October 25, 2012] | Trimmed Completionist [in Progress]Visit my Blog!
Saradomin_Mage
Doesn't it only work on NPC drops? In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
Urza285
Doesn't it only work on NPC drops?I meant think of the overall gains using it to break down drops then use them with the portable forge. Major Dash
Doesn't it only work on NPC drops? Yes. And it doesn't work on noted drops.
Veiva
Add to this it works pretty well at Tormented Demons, boosting the gp/hr by something like 500k (so 6.5m-7m gp/hr). Not bad.
