Once you enter a duel with somebody all your stats go back to normal this means special attack abilitys, and any damage you may have already endured as well as abilitys from potions. In essence he would have had to Re Pot in the arena. freecw Posted February 22, 2006 Share Posted February 22, 2006 Incredible, you beat a level 100 using a whip, drag med, full rune, and an obby shield, while he used full drag, red phat, and d2h... you are indeed level 89, but here are the combat stats for kicks and giggles: Level 100: 81 attack 86 str 77 def 84 hp 52 prayer 90 mage 78 range Level 89: 70 attack 77 str 70 def 73 hp 43 prayer 63 mage 60 range Level differences: 11 Attack 9 Str 7 Def 11 HP 9 Prayer 27 Mage 18 Range So statistically speaking, you should have been crushed. My conclusion: The slow speed of the d2h (about 4 seconds per hit*) is the major thing that caused you to win. The whip sits at 2.2 HPS* (hits per second), meaning you hit him nearly twice by the time he hit you once. Now, even with the d2h hitting 18s each time, if you were to hit even 10 each time, you would eventually overcome him (considering you were the same HP. Now, take into account the inaccuracy of the d2h, you can tell why your HP wasn't beaten so badly. He was probably hitting 0 after 0 after 0. Now, this shows you that the combination of the slow speed, or the lack of any speed thereof, and the inaccuracy, make this weapon dangerous; not to the opponent, but to the player using it. its probably because dueling arena is rigged. i'm 108 and one time i killed a 105 in a duel that had all higher stats than me, then the next duel was against a lvl 90 something, and i got owned. it was the same rules and we were both using same weapon. dueling arena scks. Actually, they don't, i pot and keep it potted as many duels as i can, as long as pots aren't turned off, your stats won't change. (if pots are off, however, yor stats will turn back to normal.) Mind you even I can hit 30's decked out in helm boots, ammy and obby and potted but the number I gave is basic at 99 str... no bonus's for ammy's, boot's, helms or pots etc. = max of 26 - it's baseline. Anyway, the deul arena is purely luck... its not purely luck, i admit their is a degree of luck to it, but theirs still an amount of skill requires. and even some1 said that duel arena is more dangerous then wildy because they could eat sharks. which technically is true, but ive had duels where ive beaten people higher then me in both ranged magic and melee stats in a duel. and ive been beaten by a lvl 78 non-pure mele guy. I don't think you should train or pk with d2h unless u have alot of defense.... But it is a nice addition to all the dragon weapons.
