Scout account for runemining

Featured Replies

Hi, I have heard that Jagex bans you pretty fast now if you break a rule.

I was wondering, since I use a scout account for runemining, I log in and out on different accounts, can jagex ban me for multiple login or drop trading if I do this?

I just read some stories of people being unfairly banned, and I don't want to be either.

So shouldn't I use a scout anymore? Most of the times I can flee succesfully from pkers, but it will make runemining alot harder.

well duh, if your multi logging your breaking a rule...

your useing an unfair advantage.

So dont break the rules and its your own fault if you get banned

and jagex isnbt quick to ban people.

The rules are very clear here:

... you may not log in more than one account at any time,

If you log in more than 1 account at the same time then you could be banned.

You will be ok if you log in your scout, look around, log out and then log in your miner.

...You have may not transfer items between your accounts in any way...

If you drop trade, then you could be banned.

Just take your scout, hopefully lvl 3 to Rune Rocks, to check, log out. Log into mining account and mine. Just don't log into both at the same time and you are breaking no rules. :?

I don't log in two at once, but first the scout, and if the cost is clear my main account, but I am just afraid they ban me unfairly for drop trading if I do.

You should be fine. If you are really paranoid, leave your scout at one area and your main on the other. That way, your paths never cross and you cant be accused.

Why bother with a scout though? I've been mining rune (f2p and p2p) for almost 2 years now, and I've never used a scout. Plus, your at least 5 levels above me, and I've done it since 65. Its not that hard to avoid pkers when mining, and if one does go after you, its easy enough to get away by just running. Bring an extra strange fruit with you, and you will do better.

Ok thanks, thats a big relieve.

I'll also try that with keeping my scouts (yes scouts, so I don't have to wait the 15 secs when switching) on the other side of the rock, worst thing can happen is a scout banned.

So long as you don't drop armour/ore/or whatever from one to the other, you'll be OK.

Ok thanks for the support.

I'm already at 150/350 rune ores, should be done by friday.

The keypoint here is that it's illegal to have two or more of your accounts interact (i.e. have anything to do with each other) altogether. So this would be against the rules yes.

I actually agree with Ian,

You're interacting those 2 accounts together even if it doesn't seem directly.

Using 2 accounts to get an advantage.

Yes thats true I have got some advantage, but they dont interact with each other.

So Im not really sure, but I dont think I risk a permanent ban with it.

conplaatje3vl9.png

Depends on the definition of "interact" - from the rules I think they mean transferring items. The information on the 8th rule is mainly about item transfer anyway

[sig too big, don't do it again]

scouts are commonly used and I havnt heard anyone complaining about being banned so im guessing its OK...

I dont use a scout anyone anyway, because i got members and im not payed $5 to mine rune easyer
