It is true that the number of high level players (lets say over 90 combat, because, as mentioned in a post above, in RSC max was 100 for some period) you see around the RuneScape world has rocketed since RS2 was released, but there is no need to complain, because it is still achievement, with time and effort still having to be put in to achieve a high level.

I don't know what it is, but something keeps telling me you "own"?

True it is still an achievement, but one that is all to common now, how would you like it if you had a high level stat and were one of the first to get it, but then because you were limited on what you could do, everyone else cought up to you and you were nothing special anymore. We understand not EVERYONE is 99 hits, but try to look at it the way Richie and I do lol, hi by the way gee :P

Completely agree, being a "RS2 product" who got to 124 in 14 months with 1600+ total, it is way to easy. I am happy to be where I am at, but I completely understand how frustrating it must be for the old timers, who worked their butts off to hit high level status, and then you hit a brick wall.

I guess eventually it will be 10's of thousands of 123+ running around.....kinda pointless. I dont think there should be a cap. If there was a level 186 with 4.2 billion combat exp (just a number I pulled out of my behind) in level 56 wildy, he could not attack anybody lower then 130, thus he or she has reached an exclusive rank. It doesnt make it any worse for the lower levels, but it gives that person a feeling of accomplishment at reaching a rare and exclusive level.

Flip side to that I guess, is the pkers will whine that he is untouchable, and can just wander throughout the wildy at his leisure, unable to be pked because of his lofty level....waaah, thats his reward for dedicating that much time to the game, want to attack him? level.

With new players joining all the time, there will always be "lo-levs", yet with a cap in place, there will be a overwhelming percentage of "hi-levs", which makes the game become boring.....and no, that cute new quest with the bright purple and pink striped spear won't make the game more enjoyable (just an example, there isnt a quest like that yet)....it's about working for that next level that attracts most people, IMO.

The wild was somehting else that was f'd up in the middle of rs2.. the first half of rs2 i loved wild it was gr8 i could walk around solo wild and not be afraid of running into 30 ppl cuz i could just leave if i wanted.... ever since they introduced teleblock wild sucks cuz no1 goes into multi anymore and ppl just try to assemble the biggest mage bank teams because if they fought solo they would die to the good pkers... jagex shoulda made teleblock not work past 30 wild since you cant teleport past 30 wild... newayz making a bunch of non sense short if caps got raised id feel more comfortable walkins in deep wild cuz i could ko nooby 110s and some of their noob clanmates who would run and tele and log from me 1 v 1....

I read all of these posts and it made me laugh. ALL GAMES MUST HAVE A LEVEL CAP. I understand you guys who are 99s are upset thar you can't go any further in your training. WoW has a cap of 60, and nearly all accounts now are lvl 60s in WoW. My friend for instance has been a lvl 60 for about a year and he still is addicted. He doesnt care that everyone else is like him. You gotta understand kids that you have reached the BEST possible amount. If you go further and further up, it unbalances everything.

WHy dont you guys work on a pure or do something with yourselves? I mean you guys are the SELECT few people with all 99s in the entire game out of millions of players....

A year or more ago someone could of seen a 123 and think to themselves "wow that guys high leveled and strong" .. Now someone can see a 123 and think themselves "oh .. just ANOTHER 123". Im not saying this because I want attention from other people for being high leveled. I get that enough by being 126 and constantly bothered.

THIS ISN'T TRUE! I'm 93 combat and nearly pee myself silly when i see a lvl 110 let alone a 126! thats what dreams are made of! anyway i know what you mean by higher than 99, but im still a noob :P and dont want the lvls to become harder to raise but maybe just a higher cap

I'd love a higher lvl cap. Lvl 120 is about 100m xp - now that'd really be something would it not.

So say you make level cap on combat skills 120 - you will have a FEW people higher lvl than anyone else, loads of fun. Also it will motivate people to specialise in one combat type, since very few could get flat 120s. For instance, I really like ranging, I still like training it even but it seems a bit pointless with over 15m xp in it. I'd love if there was something to aim for again.

Pking..I think gets boring without variation. What's the fear in deep wild if it's easy to get 120 combat and not be scared of running into a 135?

Someone said all games have level caps and gave WoW as an example. However, I'm guessing here but I'm sure there is a lot more variation between lvl 60 WoW characters than there are 123 runescape characters.

I really didnt want to mention other games in this post lol but other games when too many people hit they cap they RAISE it. Which is what is happening with WOW now. They are adding a new expansion and raising the level cap on the game because its what their "high lvled" players want. Same with alot of other games i've played or my friends have played.

Buff and Goten made some good points

I support this, my 2 highest skills are both 90, i was 101 combat when rs2 was released, i stopped playing a bit and watched every one overtake me, i trained to 108 and realised that eventually id be just like every one else and i wouldnt be able to lvl any higher, so i just stopped training all together, i pk or lvl my pure staker, i know you have a pure staker too aries, but eventually they just get boring, you can only make so much money, you can only pk so many people before you want to achieve something greater, right now with the lvl cap there i cant even see the point in training, i can beat a 120 1v1 at mage bank a lot of the time anyway, if they raise the max, i would put in the time and effort to get up there, as it is if your into pking 115 is about as far as you need to go.

Hope that made sence i dont think it did though lol.

Ok in WoW the game isn't up to luck once you reach max level like RS is. Their is gear that only max level players can use. Then their is gear even better then that. Then even better then that! Its not like in RS where a 126 is using the same gear as pretty much everyone over 70 combat.

Once you max something out in RS you hit a brick wall. You have no way to advance farther.

If your a meleer with 99 99 99 stats and you fight another meleer with 99 99 99 stats the only factor in the fight would be luck. Now how is that fun?

The only way to fix that would be to, 1. Increase the level cap, or 2. Add tons of rare, high level gear for maxed players like WoW has.

Personally I would prefer option 2 cause training is hella boring ; )

i agree with king blaze.. the level cap should be increased.. or maybe they can come up with a far more interesting idea other than just increasing lvl cap. The game will start to fall apart when everyone gets around the same high levels.

Would you play his game if we were all lvl 30...

ofcourse not it would get boring so quickly.. the same thing will occur when 10's of thousands of ppl go over 123.

also epic battles in wilderness suck for this type of game.. sure they can be fun.. but you get over it and it becomes dull and repetative. Then you get ring ins... etc. I enjoy smaller battles with variety.

i get what you guys are all on about but not just that. As said before there was a sense of achievement getting to lvl 120 but niw every were you go you can garuntee tet there will be somebody over lvl 90.

so i now thought, what would happen if they made a new game (RS3)? would al the stats restart? and could i be bothered to train again?

From my opininon i say they should

1.raise the cap

2. put a hell of alot more items into the game

3.put more xp into the lvls so its harder

1. good idea, would help with what we are talking about

2. do not see how that would solve anything about there being a lot of 120+, becides creating faster training and making the problem worse

3. yes im all 99's but it would be unfair to those who are not, if this far into the game they made it harder after over 3100 or so people have it.

yea i agree with u the game has become very easy to level... i remember before i quit back in RSC 20k combat exp an hour was very good... now i come to RS2 and i get 40k an hour easily and i tell people and they laugh and say "thats slow" and back then i was lvl 91 in RSC people would say "wow ur lvl 91" etc and they respected u... now ive reached lvl 101 and people have no respect for me... its sad.... but i dont they they should make more exp for levels but they should allow u to get over 99.. they should raise it to around 105 or so...

I see your point, and that's not only just a problem with hp. Anyone can become high-leveled nowadays. In Rsc, stats and skills were much more hard to raise. And there indeed was a bigger sense of accomplishment. In Rs2, leveling is much more easier, people don't realise how more easy it is. Rs2 killed pures, which is in my opinion what made Rsc pking so fun.

Personally, I don't think Rs2 pking has any future. Try finding other hobbies

It basically just goes to show that RuneScape is getting more attention, and more addictive. Ever since Jagex partnered with MiniClip, people have been pouring in. Thus, Jagex makes more updates, which make more people get hooked. I'm not say that all of the 99 hper's are addicted, but that the game is growing, and more people are getting addicted and playin 10 hours a day.

I've been playing 2 years, and look where I'm at. Although my stats are low, I'll admit, I too am addicted.
