No one knows how gravity works and no one knows how Jesus physically walked on water. *sigh* It's just supernatural events they worry about... Anyway, I think that there is no way ice will freeze on top of a lake enough for a man to walk across. For one thing, in the Scriptures, it was in the Lake of Tiberias, a lake that is very stormy. Ice=no chance Plus, Jesus met them while they were in the boat. It was during a storm and the disciples were terrified and thought they were going to lose their lives. Would this happen if they were stranded in ice that somehow managed to support a full-grown man? Definately not. I'm currently transitioning from a Wizard to a Mage and a Priest to an Archpriest. Lol both are nonexistant in the top 25. Hopefully I can change that. :D

April 11, 200620 yr What makes people feel the need to provide plausible physical explanations for miracles? Why not just accept that they didn't happen? (Or, of course, that they did, if you swing that way). deviantart account
April 11, 200620 yr Why not just accept that they didn't happen? Exactly, I don't need to work out HOW it happened because I don't think it DID happen. I don't waste my time trying to work out how kisses can turn frogs into princes either. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

But really, you shouldn't be in this situation because A) If you believed it, then you wouldn't question how, what, why it happened or B) You don't believe it, and you wouldn't care Everybody lovin' it, but ain't no body touchin' it
April 11, 200620 yr I didn't ask a question. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.
April 11, 200620 yr any one in uk put 5live on on the radio if you want to hear a guy talking about science v. god type thing [/bads]
April 11, 200620 yr any one in uk put 5live on on the radio if you want to hear a guy talking about science v. god type thing Why does science always have to be portrayed to be against God? It's not like Christians all of a sudden throw away common sense when they become believers. I'm currently transitioning from a Wizard to a Mage and a Priest to an Archpriest. Lol both are nonexistant in the top 25. Hopefully I can change that. :D
April 11, 200620 yr I'm not religious, but I always thought this was the Dead Sea? Something about the salt content in the water lets you float on top of it without sinking. Perhaps you can walk on it too? Ah yeah, here we go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Sea Hehe, a pity I'm afraid of water. Doesn't look like you can walk on it though, after all :( This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
April 11, 200620 yr I'm not religious, but I always thought this was the Dead Sea? Something about the salt content in the water lets you float on top of it without sinking. Perhaps you can walk on it too? No, Jesus walks on the Sea of Galilee (aka Sea of Tiberias). Different water body :P

April 11, 200620 yr Oh my God that's disgusting!! I hadn't realised until now! This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
April 11, 200620 yr That guy looks like he has a dead foot... If he sits there everyday, I couldn't imagine why his foot is dead. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. April 11, 200620 yr Oh my God that's disgusting!! I hadn't realised until now! What else could it be? He just happened to step in a bucket of black paint? :P
April 11, 200620 yr Didn't Peter walk on the water too? And then he fell? If it was a layer of ice how come Peter fell and Jesus didn't? This is the way the world ends. Look at this [bleep]ing shit we're in man. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. And with a whimper, I'm splitting, Jack.
April 11, 200620 yr Didn't Peter walk on the water too? And then he fell? If it was a layer of ice how come Peter fell and Jesus didn't? Yea Peter started to walk on water but then he did'nt fully trust Jesus so he fell.

April 11, 200620 yr Just because you can't explain it, doesn't mean it can't be done. I've walked across water several times.
April 11, 200620 yr Right. Through planks of wood attached to the bottom of the water right? Or perhaps runway style like in the alst America's Next Top Model final.
April 11, 200620 yr Maybe he walked on a protruding sand bank? On the flip side, it's been proven that women are probably better mothersYes I have balls, but they melted.
April 11, 200620 yr A portruding sand bank half a mile into the Sea of Galilee? The water there is over 500 feet deep. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley
April 12, 200620 yr Maybe he walked on a protruding sand bank? Not only is the water 500 feet deep as Barihawk said, but the story also includes one of the people standing on the water and then falling when he lost faith. I doubt the sandbar would just "disappear."
April 12, 200620 yr Let's see... the chances of ice in the Sea of Galilee, a very warm climate... 'nuff said 8) I recently saw something on the History Channel that was a master illusionist trying to reinact what Jesus did. He failed miserably at every turn, and in the end the conclusion was that they still have no idea. I'm open to scientific thought, but with this I'll have to disagree.
April 12, 200620 yr It would be stupid for people wasting their times trying to work out how I used to be able to fly unaided just as it is Jesus on water. Neither truely happened so its pointless.
