pati
a year of membership is like ÃÆââââ¬Ã¡Ãâì55(europe) wich is the price of 1 computergame(x-box,PSP,PS2,...) but i have never had a computer game wich i played 3 - 4 hours a day for a year so p2p is really really worth its money Computers will never be above humans because we made them. That's what monkeys used to say about us. lordspyx
Okay, although obvious, it never occured to me that F2P was a free trial. Ha ha! What a fool I've been... thanks for pointing that out. So sorry about that, but I still think the Runescape membership cost can add up. CelticQueen
I think it's cheap as chips!! :D If you think about computer games like The Sims where it's ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã20 per expansion pack and take into account there are usually around 3 expansions released per year if you buy all of them you've already spent nearly twice as much as what one years subscription of Runescape costs. Plus I like how they seem to have introduced various methods of paying like through SMS which means that kids who don't have a cashcard/credit card can pay for it themselves out of their allowance if they get it. lordspyx
You know guys, thanks! I am beginning to feel posotive about the aspects of Runescape and you have pursuaded me to subscribe again. ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã5.00 a month isn't too bad and if I go washing cars for an hour on the first Saturday of every month, I'll have a fiver to spend on Runescape membership. Thanks! Bubsa
As my orange compatriot, David [bleep]inson, would say: "It's as cheap as chips!" This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
gigapowers1
Its no problem, but remember it is your choice to be a member. I have a feal with my parents saying that if they let me become a member i won't buy new releases games so they like more than happy to agree lol. ANyways. :)
bballhottie1332
no its not too exspensive...5 dollars is very cheap compared to other online games u have to pay for. be thankful its not much more, jagex is actually probaly making a very good profit, think of all the members paying 5 dollars a month, thats pretty good after u add it all up...if its too exspensive for u then take a break n be a non member for a while, then go back to it...stop complaining. NeXiLe
Hmm, I don't think it's too expensive at all. Here in Canada, it's $7.30 or something. Minimum wage around here is $8 per hour so if you work 1 horu at minimum wage, you have members for a month, that's how I think about it.

Streetsoccer
If you think $5 is a lot, its rather sad. It depends on the situation...Some people just dont have enough cash.. and then 5 is much I always tell the truth even when I lie

yurpsie
My friend with low grades and without any qualification gets paid $2 an hour. In my country, for one month p2p, it's $19, so he can get one month of members with 10 hours of work. It's not very bad considering he has no qualification and thats the starting pay! I agree, $5 is not much but I still think all members should have a tuitorial island kind of thing because I am 100% sure that 99.9% of new members get lost on their first day. imaerehw14
im going straight to my main point with out reading everyone's post. (i read yours, just not the 3 pages of responses. this idea may have already come up) a normal game rent from Blockbuster is $7.99. lets round that up to $8. your rent lasts a WEEK. (yes, technically you can keep it for 29 days without being penelized due to their new policy, but they expect it to come back in a week.) now compare $8 a week to $5 a month. hmm. thats $1.25 a week. i must say, that is a big difference. now, i side with you on that if i just bought a game such as guild wars, that i would only have to pay the 1 fee. but the only game like that is guild wars, which i found out takes a high end type of graphic card (which i dont have) and i cant play it. you may have it, but i dont, and some people may not have it, so i think playing runescape on members is just fine. diukutinas
I'm living in small country and i can't pay with simple VISA so I'm paying by e-gold, but if I'm paying by e-gold then I have to pay 7.90$/month... that is a bit expensive... Why I can't pay by e-gold 5.00$/month, that would be really good...
thaimodz
Here in Bangkok, which you can say a poverty city, labors get ~US$4.5 per day. Pay off $2.5 for general expenses, you should have $2 left. Work for 3 days every month and you can go P2P. BTW My friend stole his parent's credit card and regged his A/C. This game isn't great though, sometimes slow and laggy. I remember my char running around without reason, resulted in 45% running stamina drained. [Admin Edit: Innapropriate Text in sig removed]
Risen_The
To make it short, console games won't last me a month. Online games does. :) I'd rather pay 5 dollars when I want to, then buy a game for 40-50 dollars that should keep me interest for... 3 days? (Yes that has happened to me, that dam nintendo.) http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=525348 - My Pking Gallery I'M BACK FOR SUMMER BABY
Iamfarming
Since My parents came from a very poor heritage, I'm not going to flame anyone if $5 is too much for someone to afford. Take WoW into consideration, it cost $15 dollars to play every month (I love playing it just as much as rs, so it's worth it). Now compare... $5/$15, that's over 3x less every month. Overall, rs membership is VERY cheap compared to any other MMORPG out there. Maybe I think so because my brother pays for everything... :? ehh I dunno. Kalliel
The only other thing i have to disagree with is them charging more for people who pay by moblie phone, than by credit card. ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã3.20 on credit card i think. ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã5 on mobile phone... If it was ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã3.20 on mobile phone i'd pay it no bother
X_B
To much? Are you joking. Most games are well over 5 a month, yeah they have better graphics but the amount of content of runescape is starting to compete with them. If anything it should be more, 5 a month is change that you can get from getting cans. true.

lady_tessela
I definitely do not think the monthly fee is all that much. It costs more to go to the movies ONCE, and that is only for 2 hours. If you play enough, the money is definitely worth it.
lordspyx
I agree with the people who have said 'you should be able to pay by phone for ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã3.20' as a teenager with no credit card, I have to pay more than adults with one. Surely, if anything it should be the other way around?
