Laikrob
I use ROW, and have done 20+ runs so far, 6 KC. A little spoiler: No Bloods or Boltracks - at all. But seems like I get more chaos than the others. You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Satenza
ROW does not matter, it doesn't have any effect on the chest.I suggest you replace it with a ROL. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

evilrodyle
hmmi got a nice quick story about the ROW .... well once i heard from my freind that R0W DOES make ur chance of getting a barrows item go up....well so i tryed it out and for 90!! trips i got no items...got p0ed,went to canifis put on my trusty R0L(which has saved me from dharok once :D ) and went to barrows..did one run and the result was a guthans spear... So just remember! dont think about ur wealth...think about ur life!!! Dagannoth Slayer
RAHK
I can tell you EXACTLY what 6 KC will get you (I used ROW since there is no need for LIFE with POTs :? ): 0 Bolt Racks 0 Blood Runes VERY FEW Death Runes I did 100 runs with 6KC (btw turn off auto attack while you are down there it helps heaps  ) and never recieved a single bolt rack or blood rune. I also recieved deaths less than once in 10 runs. If I remember I recieved 3 runs with ONLY gp as a reward, recieved 6 barrows items (best was guth pl8  ), and recieved gp as a reward EVERY SINGLE run. For 6 KC racks/bloods were at least 6 times rarer than barrows items which lead me to believe that it is impossible to get them without killing npcs... and where might you ask are my VERY detailed logs of EVERY single gp/item/rune from that test? I had got 6 runs into another 100-run test (16 KC 6 brothers and 10 skeletons) when my main computer died (as you can see from my location... sigh). I lost all the pics of the stuff that I got along with all the hard data. I have no desire to do this again as it was much more tedious than the 10k and 9,999 KC's so I figure this is as good a spot as any to share what I learned. (for those of you who doubt that I did what I said feel free to search for "9,999 KC" and keep it to yourself) PM me in game to use some skills of mine (glories/potions) free or to ask a question.Fire Cape - 04/29/06 Lvl 104RAHK's Pro PC Gear and Guide(clickable) Tired of hack and slash? Unitedite
ROWs definately don't effect barrows chests, only monster drops. p.s. I have a feeling that what you kill is as important as how much you kill, so i don't think these results will give the full picture. I agree that I doubt that it helps but since no other ring is needed you might as well take it. :P What you kill is probably an important factor of which runes etc. you recieve but this is about barrows items and nothing more  Feel free to do 100 runs on every monster I promise I will read every last digit of your results. I'm not kidding I will if you feel like doing all that work. :) It would be nice to organize another thread like this but I don't see it happening from the simple fact that not many kids have the discipline to do 100 runs, annotate 100 runs, kill a set number of things for 100 runs, kill ONLY those things for 100 runs, and then be honest enough to say that they accidently killed a rat that time they got the guthan spear. I hope this thread doesn't encounter those problems... aussy4321
Yes we will get some good picture from this We are not trying to find out what monster gives bolt racks and bloods if you kill x amount. We are trying to find out about KC in general and the rarity of barrow items if it increases, decreases or stays the same as any KC so do not try doubt, satenza has his reasons (i think)

Faint
I personally think kill count doesn't effect the value of the loot, I think the loots are just at random. Neocrononom. aussy4321
That is an oppinion with no facts to back it up, so that is why we are doing these tests (yet i qoute: I thnk :? )
Onanica
Wasn't it confirmed that ROW doesn't help luck at barrows? I did 3 runs today at 20 KC each time and on the second run, got guthans helm. instead of ROW i use a ring of life (just incase dharok hits really high), and i find it works great. if it is proven that one KC works better than another, satenza I hope you redo with 10 and 20 KC, just to see what kind of results you can get with those. i think that tip.it needs more comprehensive guides when relating to the rates of things that as of now are deemed "random". The information presented in this post could, if not now but down the road, help tip.it create a far more useful guide. Also, does a higher prayer level help when doing barrows? I think that it really would, and, in the long run after saving pray pots, could eventually pay off even if you buy the bones! I am currently 55 prayer and it would cost about 540k in big bones to get to 60. This translates into about 77 or 78 pray pots at todays costs. I regret to inform that i use a whole 6 pots (18 doses) to do one barrows run. Since barrows recharges your prayer 33% each dose, at level 60 prayer i could be getting at least one more prayer point per dose. after several hundred runs, this would really pay off! moreso for even higher prayer levels. let me know what all of you think
warriorborn5
i think you guys should get a huge thing going. i bet if you could get all the other big forums involved (ex: runehq) you could get a couple hundred people doing this. sn: sobermidget Bad lucky in Runescape is the real life equivilent to being hit by a car, struck by lighting and abducted by aliens all at the same time. Fnaa
I fully support this endevor. I always get 20-24 KC, and it seems to help more than when I used to get 14-16, but this should be pretty helpful in determining if it's actually worth the time to get it higher. Other than for just the runes you get. Good luck to everyone participating! I can't wait to see these results. Feel free to use this sig as yours if you like the comic. :D

Satenza
Thanks to all the supporters. I'd rather keep the experiment within the tip.it community. Becuase it would be way to hard to manage with hundreds of people helping out, even 15's a task. And Saruman44, the reason we are doing these tests out of 50 runs each, is to see if we see a significant change. I could do 1 run of each and collect the data. Wouldn't be very well backed up though would it? With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life.
